Taco 'N Madre — Restaurant in Ocala

Oh… where do I even begin. On Saturday my husband and I were on a 10 hour road trip with our baby. Halfway through we stopped to take care of something and decided to get some tacos before heading on the road. Seems like a great idea, right? Boy were we wrong. I won’t lie, the food was delicious, however we were wrongly charged $3715.00!!! After speaking to banks and issuing a refund, my family was still left in a seriously overwhelming financial situation. And now we have a 4.5 hour drive back home with a baby in the backseat and we are going to need gas, food, water, etc.. but we have nothing to buy said items with now. Lovely!!! Come Monday we call the restaurant and ask to speak to a manager who says she’ll have to send me to the owner. “He’s not in, he’ll call back later. But just so you know, the waitress did refund the full amount so you guys still do have a remaining balance of $37.15”….. I seriously had to pause and laugh for a second because there’s no way this woman is telling me that I still have to pay my bill after their mistake caused me to have past due bills and be unable to even grocery shop for my family until the refund hit my account. I just said “okay, I can’t wait to have that conversation with the owner”. Just seems so selfish, disrespectful and in empathetic of her to still charge us after this incident. Owner calls me back about an hour later. He calls the banks and tells me we have to wait one more business day and the money will return. Okay, great. Next day the money hits. But wait…. Yup! You guessed it. This restaurant still came back after seeing the refund processed and CHARGED OUR BANK FOR THE MEAL COST!!!!! You guys are absolutely unbelievable. I’m really glad you got your $40 because you obviously must need it more than us if we can somehow go 4 days missing 4k but you guys are stressing about making sure you get that $40 RIGHT as the refund hits. Couldn’t even call us back to discuss this or genuinely apologize for what happened. Truly terrible experience, but there’s no surprise there because these people clearly have 0 empathy. I guess my only advice in coming here is make sure you at LEAST have 4k in your bank in case something like this happens to...

we live 4hrs away we were up in Ocala to sell a car, and stopped by for a meal b4 getting on the road. food was great, till they accidentally charged me $3,715 for our meal!!!!! left my account ripped and being the end of the month left me short on a couple of bills. they processed a refund but kept the charge pending meaning we would have to wait days to receive our money back, unless they called the merchant side of our bank and reverse it, when we called them to ask them to do this, the person who answered had the audacity to tell us we still have a pending balance for our meal, told us the manager will call us about that, as if they didn't make the mistake of taking all of our money basically and leaving us without even gas money, thank god we had a full tank and friends to help. if this didn't happen they would've been 5 stars, if they didn't treat us like crap just now trying to resolve this, would've been 4 stars just bc of it being a mistake, and the girl who did it was very sorry. but now how they handled this has been terrible. i hope when this manager calls he's not difficult with me and my wife bc we really just want our money back to be able to pay things, they made the mistake this shouldn't even be in question yet here we are.

It was a cozy restaurant and a good place to have family conversations and watch the world go by (meaning different traffic and the blue sky). I didn't have a whole variety of foods but my husband loved the burrito even though he doesn't eat tomatoes usually but the taste came together. It's a burrito that's bigger than a teacup poodle and probably weighs more than one too haha. But anyways there is always salt at the table in case the natural flavors of the food are not something you normally eat but if you want to eat clean without a lot of heart contesting salts and go on an easy diet this is the place to be. I added salt to my steak taco and a little pinch to my chicken taco because I like to flavor the meat with that rather than natural vegetables and oils. It is really good. I gave three stars because I haven't tried other things yet and will be back for more. My hands still have the smells of a kitchen and it is not something that is unwanted. This was the first public restaurant place I took my 10 month old to and I'm glad I did because she enjoyed the different colors and sounds and people. I fed her the rice and beans off of my plate. I will come back someday and the waitresses are always making sure to greet you and say goodbye and make sure you have everything you need for your dining experience. So stop by when you have an...
