Being someone who had never consumed cereal infused ice cream before, my expectations of it were that of indifference. As I entered the establishment, questions as to whether or not the addition of blended cereal would have a significant impact on my soft served ice cream experience flowed through my head. The shop’s friendly staff welcomed me in and I proceeded to place my order. Chocolate and vanilla soft serve blended to perfection with the careful addition of Lucky Charms and Oreo-Os, topped with the cereal’s most recognizable marshmallows, rainbow jimmies, and a decadent chocolate sauce drizzle. Upon the first bite of my creation, I was immediately convinced that it would be far too difficult to return to a normal soft serve treat ever again. The cereal infused ice cream possesses an indescribable texture that not only pleases the mouth, but the soul as well. Read moreUnique ice cream shop comes to the shore! This place is brand new and I was all too happy to see a different kind of ice cream show up down here. They also have a great instagram so be sure to follow them.
We have a been a few times because they have so many mix-in/topping options and I want to try them all.
This time I got a Vanilla waffle cone with Frosted Flakes and rainbow jimmies (yes jimmies because we are in New Jersey). My girlfriend got the "Surfer Joe", which is Vanilla/Chocolate ice cream swirled with Special K mixed in, topped with pretzels, heath bar, and chocolate syrup. It even came with a surf board and flower lei.
Churn House has an awesome outdoor seating area. Because the ice cream is mixed, it does melt rather quickly. However, you do not want to miss this place! They are open from 2pm until 11pm so they are rarely too busy.
Thanks for adding some a new favorite to the dessert...
Read moreThere’s a reason Churn House is keeping this rating, with minimal negative reviews. If you’re going to deduct a brilliantly conceived, flawlessly executed Ice Cream Boutique for being “a bit pricey” (smack dab in the middle of a New Jersey vacation destination shore town) or “having long lines” (which really just means it’s insanely popular), then yeah, skip the visit. The lines go crazy quick because they have an excellent system. The prices could easily be higher and they’re not. The outdoor seating is quaint and inviting and clean and open with live music sometimes. I could go on and on, but I’m gonna stop here and dive into my cup of vanilla, with Cap’n Crunch Berries and Fruity Pebbles mixed in, topped with Lucky Charm Marshmallows and Straberry Drizzle. Keep it up,...
