My family and I ate lunch here last weekend. 4 adults, 2 children. Sadly, the experience was not good from any angle. It took an hour to get our food. Full family tables received their food before us even though they arrived sometime after us. One of our kids got their kids meal with no hot dog in it just fries and we had to flag the waitress down to get it which took time in addition to the hour. We were told they’d get their juice boxes ahead of the bagged meal but they never came until the food came and the waitress never doubled back to check on us. The food itself was subpar for the price. My hot honey chicken sandwich didn’t have honey on it but buffalo sauce. It basically was nothing like described. The general consensus was a lack of seasoning all around for everyone’s things. The fries and tots were good but cold. I’m not sure what in our order took so long but most of the food was cold by the time we got it. To top this weird experience off, we bend down to get one of the kids toys off the floor and there are ants all over. I realize being a table next to the window sometimes means little bugs but this was a clear ant infestation. By the time we saw them, we were finally finished with this meal and needed to just get on with our day. Really disappointing for how much...
Read moreOn a beautiful Ocean City day, I found myself biking around my favorite little island. As my stomach began to growl, Old School Burger appeared before me. Surprisingly, I had never visited this establishment prior, and expected standard burger shop fair. To my surprise, there were many wonders hidden within. I noticed the 80s aesthetic right away, and was even more excited by the naming convention of the menu. As I frequently do when dining for the first time, I ordered based on name alone. I looked no further than Point Break.
My server, Sarah, could see how excited I was as I ordered, and asked if I liked that movie. I began to wax poetic about Kathryn Bigelow's classic surfer/bank robber epic. Sarah not only listened to my ramblings, but even promised to watch the film based on my love for it! I am happy to say, once the sandwich arrived, it gave me the same feeling as Gary Busey's character, "Utah, get me two!" I highly recommend Old School Burger and will...
Read moreExcellent food. One of the best burgers I've had. Really well-balanced flavor. I had the Kevin Bacon burger modified to no mayo, add pickles, and with garlic parm and marinara. Delicious. Also, this restaurant has the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in at a restaurant. Others in my family had burgers and cheesesteaks, all excellent. My mom had a gluten-free burger bun which she said was really good, even top three she's ever had. Our kids loved the mac & cheese and chicken nuggets, and the little toys that came with them. Burgers were $9.99, cheesesteaks $14.99, and kids meals $6.99 (drink, meal, fries, and a small toy). Placemats and crayons for the kids to color. Beatles music was playing. Movie posters were on the wall. Michael, our host and server, did a great job, got all orders correct, was helpful and patient and had a great attitude. Five stars for Michael...
