Johnny B Goode Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Ocean City

I wanted to share the great experience I had at the 34th Street location last night, July 31st, 2024:

My family played mini golf at the Sandcastle right around the corner. We finished off around 9:30pm and we headed to your store for ice cream. I was in line with my 7 1/2 year-old and five-year-old. They were obviously indecisive about what they wanted, unfortunately the girls scooping ice cream we’re not wearing name tags and I didn’t want to be weird and ask the employee her name. But she was incredibly kind thoughtful and patient.

After a day of fun out in the sun with my children, it was about 9:30 and they were obviously cranky. I had asked my son if he wanted hand or soft serve ice cream and your employee happily waiting for me to confirm before she even started scooping- amazing people skills!

At some on point during our ice cream decision-making my son changed the flavor he wanted and I did order him the wrong flavor. Your employee was so understanding put the chocolate that he did not want in a cup and put it in the freezer said somebody would end up taking at home at the end of the night. She happily scooped my son cotton candy instead. When my younger son saw the pink and blue colors of the cotton candy ice cream he also changed his order, but we only had to put back his minion pop. I thought all was good and we paid for Order.

Then I realized I had completely forgotten To order my husband smoothie, who was waiting outside with our infant daughter. Your employee happily made My husband, a strawberry smoothie and was very patient understanding and kind through this whole process, even though there was a line of people behind us.

The young lady who helped us was on the tall side, blondish hair and tall ponytail under her visor or hat! I did leave her a tip, but I feel like she deserves even more of a commendation because she realized I was a tired Mama who had just had a rough day and really made it so easy for me and to avoid a meltdown with...

It looks like you are a great ice cream place and you seem to read your reviews here. I’m really glad you do because you need to know that even though your line is out the door sometimes, you have people leaving left and right for reasons that you don’t even know. Lol. We were there last week one night and you had kids “singing” out front. You had that sound system on full blast. I’m a mom. I have kids. I love kids. When we first got there, the little girl that was “singing” was an OK “singer” she was kind of tolerable because she could sing a little bit even though the volume was at piercing high levels, it was kind of tolerable but then two other girls started “signing” a song. They were literally screaming in the microphone. We left. The three families at the back of the line also left and two couples in the middle of the line left. Everybody was talking about it. It was horrible. It was ear piercing, and mind numbing. Please have some consideration for other people. You’re not the only business, turn it down. You’re probably going to reply to this with that was Kids karaoke blah blah blah. I’m just letting you know what people were saying...

I ordered an açai bowl for my boyfriend and the granola had almonds in it and my boyfriend is SEVERELY allergic. There was no sign indicating there were nuts in the granola when I notified the two workers that there was almond in the granola and that my boyfriend was allergic and he wouldn’t be able to eat this… There was NO sense of urgency or even an apology. I told them that they should put a sign to let people know about the nuts. After my boyfriend didn’t eat the açaí bowl we asked if he can switch it to a matcha i asked for it to have oat milk and then they gave him soy milk. This is absolutely unacceptable and they...
