I wish I could give this place zero stars. Our family came here on our way out of town hoping to have a nice meal on the way out of town. Though the food wasn't bad, I would never return based on the service we received. We were seated fairly quickly, but waited several minutes to order our drinks. When they came out, we all received coffee even though one of us had ordered an orange juice. The waitress disappeared quickly and was nowhere to be found for most of our stay, and the drink never was corrected. The wait time was absolutely atrocious, being nearly an hour for 2 omlets and a kids meal. Many of the tables around us which had come after we arrived had allready been served and left long before we received our order. At some point during our stay, our bewildered waitress attempted to serve us someone else's food, getting several plates on the table as we looked at her in confusion before we stated that it wasn't our food. She dissapeared again after that, leaving is to ask a bus boy where our food was at some 20 minutes later. After he went and found her, she informed us that our ticket was next. At that point it had been nearly an hour. When our food finally did arrive, the blt one of our party got was missing the tomato. Once again our waitress was nowhere to be found, and we once again found the buss boy to get a bottle of hot sauce. We paid the bill and left dissatisfied, as we needed to leave town and didn't have any more time to wait on a manager to complain. We will never patronize this restruant again and would not recommend...
Read moreDumser’s Dairyland Restaurant is one of the many places we always stop at while visiting Ocean City for the week. After a morning of miniature golf, we always stop here for lunch and ice cream.
Lori was our server this time and she was very good. For lunch, we started with the mozzarella sticks, and each of us had a cheeseburger. The mozzarella sticks are a little higher priced than most places ($18), but it is a generous portion and it includes fries in a basket . So quite understandable. The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection, tasty, and also included a large portion of fries. At only $13, I felt this was a great deal given the portions and quality. My daughter had a mint Oreo milkshake, and I appreciate the fact that they always bring you the leftover that does not fit in the glass. The menu itself for lunch and dinner is classic casual, American fare, including sandwiches, baskets, salads, and platters. A kids menu is also available with a great selection. Unfortunately, years ago, they removed the breakfast menu, which I thought was outstanding. Maybe one day it will return.
The motif of the restaurant reminds me of the old-style nostalgic diner and malt shop with counter and dine-in seating. Very well done. There is a window outside for people to walk up, place ice cream orders and sit on the patio to enjoy or head on their way. The ice cream is made fresh daily.
Overall, a great place to visit if only to dine in for a full meal, or stop by for ice cream. The ice cream flavors and dessert menu selections are...
Read moreWe love to visit Dumsers when visiting OC. Today was the worst. Hostess/manager seated us but not very friendly. Our server was pleasant. He took our order then the problems began. We ordered a hotdog w/ onion rings and a turkey sandwich w/ chips. Took over an hour to get our good. The server came over once and told us there was a problem in the kitchen. 4 other parties came and went from what we could see. Finally, we went to find the manager who did bring our food out hot. However, a turkey sandwich made wrong. No lettuce and tomato as ordered. Had to ask server to bring it he eventually did. We also asked for mayonnaise that he forgot twice. The icecream was very good and the sundaes were brought quickly. The server asked if I wanted a soda refill but he never brought it. I had to ask for a drink To go. When leaving there was no one to check us out. The new hostess just kept cleaning tables and looking at us with a dazed look. The person ahead of us asked if he could pay his check. She said, one minute. Now, our turn to pay ( finally), we told the girl that the manager was comping our lunches, and we would be paying for ice cream and drinks. She said we would have to wait for the mgr who was upstairs. we said no. She said ok. No charge!! Disaster. 2 hours of...
