Since I am unable to reply to your unprofessional and discriminatory response, I’ll just leave another review.

After reading your response I can see why your staff gives unprofessional customer service.

As stating in my previous review, my family and I came in very respectful of your no pet policy and we were willing to provide documentation that my service dog is a legit service dog. Even though we do not have to we had respect for your “small business”. Legally as stated by the ADA, I do not need to provide proof or documentation that my animal is a registered service animal, so legally you are in the wrong here.

Upon arriving at the crab cake factory at 11am on Saturday and observing PLENTY of open seats, my family and I were respectfully ready to provide proof of registration of the service animal after being illegally asked to do so. Following that, we were ignored and not given any service. We were not there looking for an argument “during busy dinner hours”. Matter of fact we had no problem leaving and taking our support to another small business in ocean city. Our family makes it a point to GENEROUSLY take care of small businesses, especially in today’s economy. However you tuned away good business all because I have to bring a 7lb service dog, who stays in my lap the whole time and most people do not even know she is there, everywhere I go in case of a medical emergency. I could completely understand bringing in an animal who was not behaved well and very large into such a small establishment and being treated the way we were, but clearly that is not the case.

Luckily, I am just leaving a review because I respect “small businesses”. As stated by the state of Maryland, denying or inferring with the admittance of a service animal is a misdemeanor. Additionally, the ADA states, any establishment that serves the public must allow people with disabilities to bring service animals into all areas of the facility. Respectfully, I was even willing and offered to sit outside in the 90 degree heat with my service animal because we were that loyal of customers. Still however we were denied service.

I only share this information with you not as an argument but as education. You have an obligation to serve your customers and accommodate their needs and I would hate to see such a discriminatory act like this happen to another person with...

No words because the waitress and front staff were nice. The food, not so much! The crab cake was good BUT you have to add old bay in order to really enjoy it. Not a lot of flavor. Crab Mac n cheese tastes like box Mac with crab topper, you have to add old bay as well to eat it and to not waste your money. The mashed potatoes, forget about it. It looks just like you have seen it on others posts. Instant (school cafeteria flavorless) potatoes with overly sweet bourbon sauce which also isn’t pleasant to the taste. So with or without the sauce that is just a bad choice. Now the crab dip or shall I say the extreme cheesy dip. Unfortunately it lacked the crab meat and the crab flavor. I believe they dusted the top with old bay. It was the worse ever. The dip/cream was so thick and extremely cheesy but packed with no flavor nor substance; not even green onions. Oh the broccoli was good. Not real hot not soft but had flavor; it was edible. Unfortunately, I went on the reviews and ratings and it failed me! I will not be back here! It amazes me when giving reviews owners/management get upset. So am I to give you a dishonest review and rating? My rating is for the consumer not you! As I stated the prior ratings failed me. Why tell my waitress? What could she do about poor tasting food? It wasn’t her fault? Yes the service from the waitress was good, she was nice. I am assessing from beginning to end for the consumer. Most reviewers will give a negative review based upon an issue. This is a honest review no issues just the dishes were not good. You are a crab cake company so I would hope the crab cakes would be good and they were ok I have had a lot better. So if you want to quote me don’t forget I said with the old bay seasoning. Don’t lose it over a honest review; you are right you have plenty of people that reviewed your place. I am just sorry I fell prey to it!

Consumer please beware of management sarcasm and sensitivity over reviews instead of maintaining professionalism! That always a flag for me! Unprofessional management eventually breeds...

I noticed that management is commenting on every review so wondering how my review will be discounted after I post. Anything below 5 stars is made to appear as wrong by the management. Here's my honest review. Whomever posted about the flies was 100% correct. I read reviews before I came in as I was in search for the best crabcake around Maryland. However, it was very hard to enjoy my meal while swatting flies. My young son was with me and commented that he didn't like it due to the flies, as well. We were sitting in the inside portion which is shut off by a wall from the outside, but were still getting them really badly. Also, it was the evening, but the lights were completely off in the restaurant. Between the bright light shining in the door and the open air portion backlighting everything, I couldn't see the menu or my food. Had to use flash to take pictures it was so dark in there. The man next to me commented on the same thing and was taking his sunglasses on and off so he could either look at his wife or look at his food. Turn the lights on for your diners, people. If I had to rate this place on the food alone, I'd give it 3.5 stars as the bloody Mary with tr crab was very creative and generous albeit expensive at $16 (which is not listed on the drink menu, I had to ask how much it cost). The crabcake had generous amounts of lump crab in it, I'm not sure that is so traditional, but still good. The mashed potatoes were bland and I didn't finish them and the cole slaw lacked flavor, tasted like mostly mayonnaise. My son's grilled cheese was disgusting and we returned it. Just because they are kids doesn't mean they should have crappy food especially at $6.99 for a kid's meal. The cheese on it was cheap and gross. My rating lowered further due to the uncomfortable environment of no lights and loads of flies all over my food and flying in...
