UPDATE- I sent an email to them as directed and never received a response, even after I followed up
I’ve had a summer home just down the road from this restaurant my whole and was very excited for the new ownership, but was very disappointed.
The first time I tried to eat here was at 3:20 and they close at 4:00. I was told the kitchen was closed because the chef had an event to go to. Why would management allow their chef to leave early without providing coverage in the kitchen?
A few days later we came back to try again. We were greeted by a very rude hostess who said there will be a 15 minute wait (even though there were 3+ open tables) and that she will text me when our table is ready. Just as we walked away to sit in the Adirondack chairs to wait I get a text but assumed it was just a confirmation. Once we reach the Adirondack chairs I check my phone only to see that the hostess text me that the table ready as she watched us walk away, rather than speaking up.
Once we were seated, we waited 20+ minutes without a waitress coming over. I finally had to ask for someone to come and take our order. Another table that was seated at the time time we were got their food before anyone even took our order. (However, when that table of 3 people received their food every order was wrong and had to be sent back).
When we were finally able to order I wanted to order breakfast and my friend wanted lunch. We were told that we wouldn’t be able to eat at the same time so I decided to order lunch as well. The waitress now informs us that she can’t take lunch orders for another 10 minutes so we had to wait some more.
We ordered the coconut shrimp which was good, but that was it. I ordered the $16 shrimp tacos but asked for chicken instead (the chicken tacos were $14). I could only eat one of the tacos because the chicken was so dry to wasn’t edible. When received the bill I was charged $16 for the tacos + $2 for chicken when it should have been - $2. My friend ordered a quesadilla which was supposed to come with sour cream which they forgot. When we asked for the sour cream what they brought us was very obviously USED. It wasn’t full, had crumbs in it, and even a big fuzz in it. Unacceptable.
The whole experiencing was very disappointing from the rude hostess, to the long wait, and being given someone’s left...
Read moreWe were excited for the reopening and enjoyed walking/biking to brunch. We didn’t mind waiting to a point and it was nice there were seats and some umbrellas for shade. We were told it would be 30 minutes, but it was an hour wait and for some reason they don’t seat anyone while they “switch over for lunch” which was at least 20 minutes. There seemed to be a lot of confusion. They took phone numbers but if you weren’t within ear shot they didn’t call you. I saw at least 4-5 groups get called and skipped over without a phone call. They also said no breakfast would be served after the lunch switch (after we had already waited for 30 minutes), but after several parties expressed concern, the hostess checked and said we could still get breakfast. One group left after waiting quite a while before the information had been corrected. When we were finally seated, the wind blew a cup of water off a nearby table and onto my husband. A bus boy lost a second cup of water that got all over my husband and daughter and a waitress spilled soda on the table beside us. It was a very windy day, but there has to be some way to better accommodate and avoid accidents. Another concern was that there were many items unavailable (crab cakes, dips, short ribs). I’d prefer knowing that when you leave your name so you don’t wait an hour before knowing the menu limitations. My daughter also asked about smoothies (listed on the building) and was told “I don’t know why that’s there, we’ve never served smoothies.” Overall, it was a disappointment. I’d like to think a lot of these things can be adjusted and improved, but we likely...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place. Their aesthetic on Instagram looked beautiful and it's right on the beach, so you literally eat in a cute bungalow in the sand! They played awesome old school 50s and 60s music, including the beach boys, and their color scheme of orange and mint green was beautiful. However, my experience was highly disappointing. My group of 4 first arrived and my friend needed to use the restroom. They don't have a bathroom, so she was sent to the lifeguard stand, which took about 15 minutes round trip to walk to and come back. We then ordered our food. It came out fairly quickly, but in parts. Half of my group received our order, and then the other half about 10 minutes later. Each of us had something wrong with our food-missing avocado, no cheese or aioli on the omlette, eggs cooked incorrectly, and we were missing two sides that we ordered. A food runner served us our food and our waiter never came to check on us. We flagged down a sweet busser and told her about our missing sides. She went up to another server to tell her about the problem, to which the server said "They're not my table, I don't care". We ended up getting our sides, yet still hadn't seen our waiter since he took our order. He then walked up to us to give us our check, but still didn't ask how our food was or if we wanted anything else. I believe this place was open for about a month, so I tried to be understanding while they ironed out some kinks. However, the service was inexcusable. The food was great, however I wish it was made as described on the menu and I was highly disappointed with...
