Visiting the Ocean City Boardwalk was an experience I’ll never forget. It’s one of those places that combines the charm of a classic seaside town with the energy of a lively beach destination, and it truly offers something for everyone. From the moment I stepped onto the boards, I could feel the excitement in the air. The mix of ocean breeze, the sound of waves, and the smell of boardwalk food immediately set the tone for a perfect day.
One of the things that stood out to me was the sheer variety of activities and attractions along the boardwalk. It stretches for miles, and every section seems to have its own personality. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly rides, games, shopping, or just a quiet spot to enjoy the view, you can find it here. The amusement rides and arcades give it a nostalgic feel, reminding me of childhood summers, while the newer shops and restaurants bring a modern touch that keeps the boardwalk fresh and exciting.
Of course, no boardwalk experience would be complete without the food, and Ocean City definitely delivers. From Thrasher’s fries and boardwalk pizza to caramel popcorn and funnel cakes, it’s impossible not to indulge. The food stands and restaurants are part of what makes the atmosphere so lively, and it’s clear that eating here is part of the tradition. I especially loved how every corner seemed to offer a different treat, making it fun to snack as I walked along.
The views are another highlight. On one side, you have the sparkling Atlantic Ocean with wide sandy beaches, and on the other, the colorful shops, rides, and lights that bring the boardwalk to life. Watching the sunset from the boardwalk is absolutely breathtaking—the sky lights up with shades of pink, orange, and purple, and the glow of the rides and arcades creates a magical backdrop. It’s a perfect place for photos, but also just for pausing to enjoy the moment.
What impressed me most was how the boardwalk manages to be both exciting and relaxing. During the day, it’s buzzing with activity—families biking, kids enjoying the rides, people lining up for ice cream, and beachgoers strolling in their swimsuits. In the evening, it transforms into a vibrant scene with music, entertainment, and nightlife. There’s a rhythm to the boardwalk that makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger, whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning after many years.
Overall, the Ocean City Boardwalk is more than just a place to walk—it’s a full experience. It combines the best parts of a beach town: delicious food, fun attractions, beautiful views, and an atmosphere that makes you feel alive and connected to the energy around you. It’s no surprise that it’s considered one of the best boardwalks on the East Coast. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, memorable, and quintessential summer experience. Whether you’re with family, friends, or exploring on your own, the Ocean City Boardwalk is a place you’ll want to return to...
Read moreFirst time in Ocean City. Came down from NYC for a client's Porsche Event. I will be back!
I must say, I was blown away by the boardwalk and the whole town. Just for starters the drive over the bridges and causeways from the mainland offers spectacular views.
First thing that struck me was how clean and orderly the entire area is, including the boardwalk and beach. The boardwalk itself is a great mix of old and new. The Music Pier is a wonderful old building, as are many of the original shops and attractions. But the fronts and entrances are modern and well designed.
There's literally something for everyone from shops to restaurants to amusement park rides to curiosities. You name it, it's on the boardwalk. I brought my bike, parked several blocks away, and rode onto the boardwalk. The town is very bike friendly EXCEPT this weird thing about not being able to lock/chain your bike to the railings. Not sure what that's about, but I noticed people would lean their bikes on the rail and chain them to each other. Go figure. You can rent bikes, but it's pricey. I recommend bringing.
We moved to NYC 20 years ago from Redondo Beach. We're beach snobs. The idea of dragging all your gear several blocks then paying to access the beach is no bueno for us. And it's pretty hard to beat the beaches of Southern CA. But I have to say . . . Ocean City has...
Read moreI've been going here literally every year since I was born. In the past few years, the Boardwalk has started to change more and more drastically. Change is inevitable of course, but it's so sad to see staples stores that have been there forever, like Mia's, Habitat, Old Salt, Linda's, etc., being replaced by VR and excape rooms. Which are fun, but we don't need so many. It's also drawing a much larger teenage crowd, similar to Wildwood, which is why I've always gone to Ocean City; to avoid how Wildwood is, and is the only reason why I'm giving this four stars and not five.
Mia's luckily moved to Asbury Ave, which Asbury has really been built up on over the past few years, and become a nice place to shop. Stations is one of my favorite, as well as Potomac bead company, Hoy's and now Mia's. I use to love Toilet Water, and it's a shame they had to close after the flood.
Ocean City has some of the best food of the shore towns. Such as Opa, Yanni's, Voltaco's, and Cino Dey Mayo, that we look forward to every year.
And last, but certainly not least, the best coffee is Ocean City Coffee Company. There are several occasions, and I always stock up for home every trip! Trust me, after trying theirs, you'll be like,...
