Ocean Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Oceanside

I have been going to this restaurant (both locations) for almost two decades it is a favorite. Food and atmosphere perfect every time. This is the first time I am writing a review. I rarely write reviews good or bad! If I could put service at negative 5 stars I would! I popped in on a whim, missed lunch menu, no problem, ordered off the regular menu. Pork green curry. I sat down assuming she knew I was staying. When she handed me my food in bag. I explained I wanted to eat it there because I would have to eat it in the car and she told me that I couldn't eat to go food there and offered no other option but for me to eat it in my car even after mentioning I don't live around here. I have a 45 minute drive home as I do not live in the area but am in the area multiple times a week. I'm writing this between bites in my car... livid and now too upset to finish my food because who wants to...

This is my favorite Thai food place. I used to live 1 block over back in the good old days. The lunch menu is a great deal, with your selection + salad or soup + a spring roll. The chef knows how to perfectly blend all the exquisite Thai flavors to prepare a cohesive & perfectly blended penang curry, which is my favorite. He also serves the meal as if you are a 5 star guest at a local Thai restaurant. I love that he treats us like 5 star guests. He's a perfectionist. The ladies are so very nice. Any of the curries, if you like Thai curry, are delish. The fried rice & noodle dishes also thumbs up. I'm a big fan. Also, since 2007, my 1st time, the prices remain reasonable. I don't know about the Vista location. Because I stick to the Mission location. It is a must when I visit Oceanside. I hope you enjoy Ocean Thai...

Both locations are ALWAYS great. Their servers are friendly, thorough, communicative, and attentive. The ambiance and cleanliness is on point and consistent. In the beginning I'd order the different curries. This last year I have been ordering a different menu item each time I visit. The menu is expansive, fortunately. There isn't a menu item that has been disappointing. Something that surprised me is that their mango sticky rice tastes super fresh. Highly recommend this restaurant.
