Muramid Art Studio of Joanne Tawfilis — Attraction in Oceanside

Muramid and the Art Miles Mural Project create our projects with love, warmth, harmony and peace deeply from our hearts and has done so for over two decades throughout the worldand mostly for FREE or with tiny amounts of donations as most people can testify. This project was done under government requirements, guidelines and timelines. We work with an all volunteer team and a SER senior citizen trainee program and have no paid staff including the founder of the art miles mural project. Our most recent mural project was also created and completed with over 144 community members who contributed ideas. Sketches and drawings and the conceptual and consolidated design voted on by community members on line through the City offices. The 70 foot front mural and 2 foot side murals for children and an amazing low rider wall incorporated designs; both original designs and copyright free images as all graphic artists are allowed to do and as submitted by ciommunity members to the facilitstor and the community did have opportunities to review as well as an adhic hoc review by the Oside arts commission. Any delays in the procedure were due from drenching rains and cold weather by Mother Nature and deadlines imposed by the City. I was a volunteer here and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in all my years of volunteering and mural painting. Not only did the project go 3 months over what we were told it would at the start but the final mural used AI art without any volunteers or the general communities knowledge. Communication was horrible. I was harassed the day of by one of muramids employees, and then again at the unveiling of the mural itself. A horrible experience....

Must see place in Oceanside! Inspirational and amazing. Saturday drum circle 1 to 3 pm pulls the community together through music. The 5000 murals from around the world and the story behind them is uplifting. Dr.Joann and Aki will take you somewhere special,inside yourself.
