Savory Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Oceanside

Gorgeous decor, outstanding food, good prices. My husband and I tried an appetizer, yellow chicken curry (spicy level 0 had just a slight kick), and the mango island dessert. The appetizer was like a thin egg roll with a delicious, slightly spicy sauce. We shared the curry and still took a small box of it home for his lunch. The mango island was like mango sticky rice, but with a mango chutney (chunks of mango in a sauce), instead of sliced mango, and thick coconut milk with sesame seeds on top of the rice "island" in the center of the mango "sea." It was also cheaper than their mango sticky rice. Served in a cute, round metal bowl with a dome lid. All of the dishes were beautiful. I was bummed that we didn't really fit in the booth (we're both on the larger side), and that we had to sit at a table, because the booths had pretty pillows in the corners of the benches. The restaurant is lovely and they have put a lot of nice touches into it from the pillows in the booths to the elegant decor. But, the service was a little slow, which was surprising because there was only one other table with people. They seemed to be focusing on to go orders more than us, but after about 5 minutes our server came from the back and delivered and a to go order and then came to take our order. Since it was out first time we went with traditional lunch specials to see how they compared to our other local favorites. The lunch specials came with salad and a spring roll. However they were all on a plate that was a little too small for that much and as such our salad dressing was mixed with the noodle dish sauce and the spring roll sauce. So all 3 sauces combined on my plate which gave the food a slightly odd flavor. You could tell the food was fresh and good quality, but the way they served it took away from that. If they put as much attention to detail into the food and service as they do their decor, I think it would have been a better experience. As it was it...

Thai food is my favorite cuisine. I moved here about a year and a half ago and have tried about a dozen Thai food restaurants since I've been here. I haven't found anything I really liked, with the exception of Bangkok Bay in Solana Beach which is a long drive...UNTIL TONIGHT!! This will now be my go-to place for Thai food. I'm so excited to have found this place! We hadn't tried it before because the area it's in seems a little sketch to me but don't be fooled - this is a hidden gem. We had Yellow and Panang curry and Pad Thai takeout. My whole family loved everything. The two curries for me were out of this world. Even the rice was amazing. Pad Thai was also excellent though I prefer wider noodles. Can't wait to eat leftovers for lunch tomorrow, and to try other dishes as well in the future. Thank you for an excellent meal!
