Sizzler — Restaurant in Oceanside

Prepare yourselves, it’s incredibly expensive.

$20+ for salad/soup/dessert bar $30+ for salmon and $10 to add on soup $12+ for Kids salad/soup/dessert bar $8+ for one kid regular size bowl to fill up once, this was an issue because what if you want soup and dessert, oh well, the soup would run all over the bowl so no way to add anything else.

So I took a star off for cost, it’s just water too pricey but it was my hubby’s bday so we went and celebrated.

Now for the full star review, everything was yummy. Seriously. Salad bar is best in town bar none. My husband and I both agreed, the clam chowder was the best we’ve ever had except for in San Francisco by the boat for Alcatraz. That’s saying a lot. For that alone, we will return.

Kids loved the bread. As did I at their age. Taquitos were also actually really really good! Again best we’ve had. Their broccoli salad was so delicious. I don’t do desserts much any more but my daughter kept saying you’ve got to try a bite! And each thing I took a tiny bite of was yummy. The ice cream was best I’ve had at any buffet restaurant ever.

I loved that the salad bar had beets and sesame seeds and several greens to choose from or mix.

Is it all worth $20+? No. Especially considering Golden Corral has a ton more choices and unlimited and steak etc for the same price. If it were $10 or 12 we’d go weekly, I only get one salad, one 1/2 soup, but there’s no option for that. Instead of a one trip bowl, having a split bowl or even two smaller bowl that equal that one regular sized one, so you can get more than one soup or one salad. They call it one trip but in reality it’s saying pay $15 and you can get a soup or a salad period. Not worth it.

Anyways. Those are my thoughts. For now it’ll have to just be a bday dinner place to go celebrate at.

Servers were nice but we didn’t get more bread napkins nor water. At the very end we got water again but had to asked...

CONSTANTLY,THIS MAN, NEVER STOPS LIKE A PHENOMINAL, WIND UP TOY.

THE STAFF, OM , GOODNESS, SO ATTENTIVE, THOUGHTFUL, KIND, WTHEY ALL, ORK THEIR TAILS OFF. I COME 5X A WEEK,MY SPOUSE, TO THIS SIZZLER, . MY MATE, ADORES,....THIS *SIZZLER AND THE MOUTH WATERING -AWESOME- STEAKS AND FULL HUGE FRESHLY STOCKED SALAD BAR HE IS GAINING WEIGHT, LOL (HE HAS BEEN THIN,...HIS WHOLE LIFE)

I used to love going here to eat, because it's such an all inclusive meal when you get the salad bar. Not everything is made at a very high standard, but it was enough for me. Unfortunately, I found the table service really lacking, a few times I was there. The last time I went was in the past couple of months. As I was paying with my credit card, the waitress asked if I wanted cash back for a tip. That's when it brought to mind the poor service I had had in the past, and I mentioned it to her. She gave me a dirty look. I also think it's a little dangerous to ask people if they want cash back on their credit cards. Some credit cards charge cash back as if you got a cash advance, and it can really mess up your credit card balance, and charges. So we sat down, I got my salad bar, and his food came. The server seemed a little funny, possibly the hostess said something to him about my comments. I also had a funny feeling about the food when I was eating it. It just didn't taste right, it didn't taste as good as it usually did. It just seemed a little bit off. The only things that the server brought me were the water and toast that we had two servings of. A while after going home, I began to get very sick from the food I had eaten.
