Update: 5/17/25 This store is very misleading. They have signs percentages off everywhere, but nothing associates with the correct stuff. For anyone who is entering the store. The first stuff you look at is 30% "ON FURNITURE" not the things ontop of it. Talk about sneaky marketing. Then the customer assumed I was trying to take advantage of the percentage and called a manager. I ended up buying half of what I was going to get. If your going to no clean the store and properly put the product back in its home. How is it the consumers fault. If you are at the register. Politely apologize and explain this is not on sale. Its no big deal. Yea you lost my business. See picture to understand.
I am pretty sure this is the biggest Hobby Lobby in San Diego County! It has more than the La Mesa Hobby Lobby. I give this store a 3 star because the only negative experience we had was the checkout. 2 Lanes open. A manager that just staring at her cashiers as if they should be ringing faster. It's amazing how a great shopping experience can go from 5 star to a negative check out experience. Other than being closed on Sundays. The store is nice and stocked. Clean aisles and restrooms. When you make eye contact with any employee they great you with a sincere personal greeting. Even though it took quite some time to check out with only 2 items in hand. The cashier was still polite. Just surprised that only two lanes were open. Knowing customers are huffing. You would figure they would call back up. All the customers behind us were patient. But it got to a point we were all looking at each other as maybe we should leave the product and leave. If they fix this, the store would definitely meet 5 stars. It won't stop me from shopping here though! So I am crossing my fingers they get better!
*UPDATE 5/6/19 They still lack in help when it comes to long lines. As other retailers they have walkie talkie to call for backup. Disappointing. I still have love for hobby lobby. I would love to see an improvement.
*UP UPDATE 2/12/21 There biggest struggle is cashiers. Still long lines with no urgency to help long lines. Drop down to a 1 star. Sad.
*UP UP Update 4/15/22 We were greeted with a employee with a tablet! She was professionally dressed in grey. The minute she saw a few customers at register. She re directed us to a cashier that opened. Finally they are ontop of it. Hopefully it stays this way.
*Update #5 and final. Bummer...... 5/14/22 @5:59pm
I give up. It's Saturday with 1 cashier open. You would think on a Saturday. They would be present to help. This review will remain a 1 star. Cashier had an issue about a discount. So the line stack up. No one ever came. We about left the product at the counter.
*Update 3/11/24 They just can't get the register check out lines down. Store is clean. Restrooms smell great. But the check out experience. Make you second guess your purchase. You end up leaving the product and not...
Read moreThe difference between an Amazing Employee & a Poor Manager. Believe it or not, this was my first experience at a HobbyLobby. As an Interior Designer for over 31 years, who purchases primarily at the wholesale level & always with tax exemption, this was my first time buying retail from HobbyLobby Oceanside. Lindsey, our cashier, was an absolute delight, funny & sweet & so fantastic for committing about 30 minutes to ringing up 100s of items & bagging all our purchases with care & consideration; she also helped us push several shopping carts to our cars. Her all-star customer service was a perfect & professional experience! Thank you, Lindsey! UNFORTUNATELY, the manager would not accommodate my resale information, nor allow me to fill out the resale form they keep available to designers. In no way did he make any professional consideration for making sure my business at his store was of any value, or that I would be sure to return, nor did he thank me for my purchases. As good as the availability of product was & as excellent as the staff was, his lack of professionalism will keep me from ever returning to the Oceanside HobbyLobby location. Whereas the HomeGoods in Temecula & Encinitas will open the store early & provide me with personal assistance to make sure the thousands of dollars I spend every year will keep me coming back. And, so, with the addition of having over 8,000,000 views on Google as a local guide, it's my responsibility to rate HobbyLobby Oceanside at a lower score than it should be. +6 out of 5 stars for Lindsey +4.5 out of 5 stars for availability of product & pricing. -5 out of 5 stars...
