This particular one is in a not so good part of town. There were homeless people inside the restaurant bothering the paying customers asking them for food. There was an argument between 3 homeless people while we were eating. There were 2 additional homeless people that came into the restaurant just to use the bathroom. There was another homeless man that was asleep in one of the booths. Staff was doing nothing, acted as if they were not there. It made for a very uncomfortable and unsafe environment. The food was not fresh. It tasted as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for several hours. The sweet tea was really good though. The only good thing about the meal. The service was barely any. Our order was taken verbally first while the employee was refilling the tea. Then our order was taken again at the register. When I took my food to the table my tea was missing. I went back to ask for it and the employee was just sitting on a stool on his phone oblivious to me even being at the counter. There was not one single clean table in the entire establishment. Luckily I carry baby wipes and I was able to clean us a table. The trash was beyond full, it was puking out of the can. Tables still had previous customers food and messes on them. The floor was littered with trash. Wish I had seen all of this BEFORE we paid. I sure hope we don’t get sick. If you have children please do not take them here. What we witnessed while here was definitely not PG or child...
Read moreMy sister and I usually eat at the East Colonial location when I'm in town and their fish strips are always a nice size and fresh. We always order the two piece fish with hush puppies, fries, and coleslaw. My experience at the West Colonial location was the exact opposite. My fish strips (2) were very small and dark compared to my sister's plate. Hers looked like the menu picture, good sized and lightly golden. We ordered the exact same thing so I don't know why mine looked much darker and tasted like pure grease. Needless to say, my stomach was rumbling a few hours later. I'll spare you the details. Update: I now realize the reason my fish was dark and greasy was that it was probably ordered by someone else and never picked up. Rather than toss it out, the cook just reheated it in oil. That would explain why they were darker than my sisters fish and tasted like pure grease. My fries were also cold and the portion was much smaller than my sisters. I am surprised they weren't reheated in oil. I didn't mention this in my earlier post but the ladies bathroom did not have soap (two female employees working that night). There was also feces smeared on the floor by the hand dryer. If I had seen that beforehand, I would not have ordered. Disgusting! I wish I had taken pics of my food and...
Read moreWe ordered our food by phone...it was ready when we got there...and this is about the best thing I can say about 2 of our dinners. Mine was grilled fish and a skewer of shrimp they were great BUT I had told the person when I ordered that I needed to be Gĺuten Free! The 1st thing I saw when. I opened my dinner box was a dinner ROLL on top of my fish! What the heck...this could have caused me some serious issues! Second my baked potato was so old and dried out it was hard to eat...and my corn on the cob was VERY old and shriveled up...un-etable. One of the other meals the baked potato was also shriveled up and the inside was BROWN...this tells us that this potato was VERY old or very overcooked. This was a very sad experience for us. We came to visit from Wyoming and the 1st thing I wanted to do was eat at a captain D's ! We were supposed to get 1 of your restaurants in Cheyenne, Wyoming but it was canceled for some reason. I was really looking forward to having a really nice fish dinner and I'm really disappointed in your quality of food. Fish was excellent but the bread on top was uncalled for and could have sent me to the ER. Your people at this restaurant HAVE to me on top of it when it comes...
