Craving authentic, flavorful street tacos? You’ve got to try @Fogata Street Tacos in Ocoee, Florida! Don’t take my word, Google reviews rave about the bold flavors and top-notch service. I had the chance to try 9 incredible dishes—starting with the Tacos Campechanos, featuring tender carne asada and chorizo on a cheesy bed with grilled onions. The Chilaquiles with morita peppers in chipotle sauce are a spicy, savory delight. Don’t miss their Birria Tacos, crispy Mahi Mahi Tacos, or the crispy goodness of the Fried Chicken Torta. Plus, their Gorditas with avocado and refried beans hit the spot! Save room for dessert—Flan and Xango with cream filling are the perfect sweet finish. Visit Fogata Street Tacos—thank me later🥵 Sister concept of the famous @frutamixocoee but with a different vibe and menu😁 LETSTRYTHIS! #ocoeeflorida #ocoee #orlandofoodie #streettacos #chilaquiles #orlandorestaurants #visitorlando #westorlando

I am at a dance competition at Ocoee High School and being here 12-14 hrs a day we are HUNGRY. PLENTY of us parents are dreading the fast food runs for our kids and ourselves. I stumbled upon this delightful place while doing a quick Google maps search for food nearby. The reviews were great, the pictures looked amazing and it seems locally owned and NOT a chain. That was what sealed the deal for me. I walked in the door fully expecting to order Al pastor tacos but was immediately greeted by Lilly. She sounded like my entire family from Brooklyn, NY and guided me through the ordering process (everything is done via large touchscreens that are super user friendly) I saw a picture of the Fogata Fries and had to change my order. Fresh made fries topped with queso, chorizo, jalapeños and sour cream—THEN you choose an additional meat to add at no extra charge. I chose grilled steak. I added a fountain drink and added a 15% tip and my meal was $18. When I sat at their counter (no tables inside but a beautiful outdoor patio is available) I was greeted with house made chips and salsa on the house! Delicious. The food was great. I made myself finish the entire thing. I could’ve easily shared it. The value for the money was wonderful. I’d highly suggest you come support small businesses like this if you’re in the area. McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Taco Bell are doing just fine without your money. Come get REAL food made to order and support local. You won’t be sorry.

This was our first visit. It's not very convenient to where we live, but it was worth the visit. Ordering via the touch screens was clunky. There were 7 of us on our first visit and people behind us were waiting to order. I ordered an alacarte shrimp taco with avocado salsa, a side order of rice and beans, and a cherry Pepsi. The taco came with around a dozen small shrimp. On the side were slices of radish, chopped cilantro, and small grilled chili pepper. The taco was very good, the chili pepper 🌶️ was spicy, so I only had a couple of small nibbles, and the rice y beans were also very good. My wife had a side of avocado slices, and she let me have a couple of slices. I do love avocado. Overall, the food was better than expected. I read somewhere that the best way to eat a taco is over a tortilla. I took my droppings, which included a shrimp, and added it to my rice and beans. Put some salsa on that and it was the highlight of my meal. I'm a big fan of cherry Pepsi; I don't know of any other restaurant that offers that. I'll be back just for that. The thing I didn't like, other than ordering, was that the only tables were outside. The last time I checked, Florida is hot and humid and rainy in the summer. We managed to get two tables under an umbrella. The eating arrangement is less than ideal. Enclosing the outdoor seating area would, in my opinion, greatly improve Fogata Street Tacos.

Decent but could be better. I hear a lot of people raving about this place so I decided to try it. I think the most important part they have down and that’s flavor. I think the meat is seasoned well.

The things I’m not so impressed with are as follows.

The prices are hit and miss. Some things I think are priced only slightly over such as the burritos. They aren’t too overpriced considering the size of the burrito. The taco’s however are far too overpriced. $4 for a single taco before add-ons is too much. You can go to several other authentic Mexican restaurants in the area and get the same thing for around $2 or less per taco. There are an insane amount of authentic Mexican restaurants in Apopka not too far from here. It’s like Apopka decided to become the hub for dollar stores and Mexican restaurants. Jokes aside, the point is, the prices need to be re-evaluated.

The tortilla chips. They are authentic and really good chips. The problem is that they are just too thick for chips and salsa style of serving. The thickness is great for a dish like chilaquiles that can use a chip that can stand up to all the moisture they are covered in but for just snacking on chips and salsa, you need a thinner chip.

The Cotija Cheese they are using seems to be the Aged variety and this isn’t really a good pairing for tacos. The “young” cotija cheese variety has a feta taste and pairs well with tacos. The Aged variety taste more like Parmesan cheese and has a flavor that doesn’t really compliment tacos. It should not be used.

There are no options of commercial brand hot sauces that have become coveted by most patrons of Mexican food establishments. You can have all of your in-house sauces you’d like but some people just want their Cholula or Tapatio. It’s no offense to whatever house hot sauces you offer. Some people just grow accustomed to particular brands and associate them with good Mexican food. Embrace it. Offer them.

Seating is very limited here. You either sit bar-style or outside. Those are your only options. This isn’t a deal breaker by any means. Just not optimal for business. Especially in Florida where it rains at any given minute. Might be worth investing in some sort of awning outside. Again… not a deal breaker. Just food for thought. ;-)

This restaurant was delayed for a long time while the owner waited on some really nice tortilla maker to be delivered from Mexico. That’s a cool piece of Information the average guest will know nothing about. This is a missed opportunity. This thing should be on display via a glass window view in to the kitchen where people can see it being put to use and maybe a plaque on the wall explaining the significance. This is a great story and everyone visiting would likely appreciate this dedication to authenticity. Missing out on a great story behind the food opportunity here. You’re not just another boring Mexican restaurant. You are one with a story to tell. So tell it and let people appreciate you for it.

Don’t just be another restaurant. Be a destination. Be the reason people come to the area. You have the flavors, you just have to tighten up the...

Forever Forget Fogata! Worst taco place in history. Literally unedible mystery fish. We eat fish tacos around the country and have never had an eating experience even close to this bad… These fish Tacos were not only expensive for a no name fish they were so spicy we could not eat them, not even close and we like spicy.

I am pretty sure it all went south when the lady said I can not order unless I punch in my phone number but I refused because we were sitting 5 feet away from the counter and I don’t like people selling my information especially a crazy taco place. (Not even close to street food quality) She looked at me like I was crazy and told me that I could not place the order without my phone number so I said then I’m gonna cancel my order.

She said well if you’re gonna do that just hit print receipt and I’ll call your number… I said I thought you said I couldn’t order without giving you my phone number?

She just gave me a dirty look and I sat down. So that’s probably why it was so spicy it was not edible so we try to take the $22 of the tacos back and they were all whispering to each other looking at us awkwardly so I asked my wife to just take them to the counter since the lady we approached was bussing tables.

We knew it wasn’t gonna go good. As you can see in the picture they took the fish threw it back in the oil and refried it to remove the crazy hot Chipotle.

Talk about Disgusting it was so dry it was unedible yet once again. We know they threw back in the fryer because the first time it was somewhat juicy this time was the Sahara desert. I am like OK let’s just try to push through this let’s dump some marinara sauce on them and some sour cream. The lady said all they had was these two green sauces so we took them thinking they were going to be yummy and we could dump it on those Desert dry fish bones and make something happen.

Wary of the whole horrible customer service thing going on we dipped our knives in the green sauces to see how spicy they were… coughing and chocking from the Carolina reaper sauce she sabotaged us with. All we could do was laugh at this point because they were blatantly throwing elbows in the cage…

so…. if you like dirty looks, being told you can’t order food without giving up your private information, horrible customer service, extremely spicy clumps of unknown fish, and extremely over fried crispy morsels of non edible food with no marinara sauce or sour cream then we highly recommend this hell hole of a place place!!!

I think first time in my life I will charge something back simply because it was not something you would feed prisoners much less your beautiful bride and two...

I was excited for this place to open being that it’s less than 5 mins from where I live. I literally patronizes this establishment 2 or 3 times a week when in the mood for tacos. I usually order À la cart tacos because I’m not fond of the rice and beans that comes with the meal. The shrimp and steak tacos are my favorite hands down! Both cooked and seasoned to perfection. However, my perception has changed as of today. Not because of the food, but because of the RUDE employee who took my orders the register. The same employee assisted me last week but when I got home my order was wrong. I didn’t bother to call and complain or take it back. So on this visit I made certain to explain exactly what I wanted and made sure to check my order prior to leaving. And to my surprise my order was wrong again! I politely walked over to the counter to let her know my order was wrong again. As I walked towards the counter the employee saw me approaching and started whispering to her co-worker and giving me a dirty look (rolling her eyes). I told her my order was wrong and she proceeded to tell me she gave me what I asked for. Then she immediately asked if I want my money back. I was taken aback that her only solution was to provide a refund as opposed to fixing the order. She proceeded to go back and forth with me until I decided to ask for my money back so I can leave. She continued to mouth off as I was walking out the door. I refuse to patronize this establishment again as long as that rude employee is working there. They certainly don’t deserve my support if their employees don’t know how to problem-solve and respectful...
