It's Baskin Robbins; probably the very best Frestanding, Brick& Morter" Ice Cream parlors since Haagen-Dazs (also a "Cali-thing," so to speak, as their American headquarters is in Oakland/San Francisco (Northern california...somewhere around the "Bay Area" I once read/heard...I'm sure one could easily look it up on Wikipedia); sadly, it they have stores/parlors; Only at grocery stores that I'm aware of like Albertsons/Safeway (Same grocery store chain/company), etc. (at least here in America that I know of). I used to eat here as a teen when I lived in Fountain Valley, Orange County. They've built 2-3 More stores in this Relatively "small area:" Midland/Odessa - aka: Permian Basin, although half a million in population... I would guess there's only 6 stores, maybe? Something similar in number to Starbucks although there are about 10 locations of those in Midland/Odessa...half "free-standing the other half part of, say, an upscale grocery store like Albertson's "Market Street" or Target. There's even one at one of the hospitals (According to the "Regional Location" map at parkslegado dot com: they state the population here as approx 498,000 so, basically, half million), is relatively small place when you grew up in Los Angeles, Austin, & Dallas...Nothing against this area as the traffic is such that it so much easier to get around - ESPECIALLY Austin: Coolest City in Texas; Worst Traffic by far! (than what i'm used to/"grew up driving in") and the people are nice! :-) ).I. I LUV California but there are some real jackasses in L.A. if U know what I mean 2 A body whose lived in LA knows what I'm talking about period of course there's Jack Wads everywhere but do you really have a lot in LA! Try flying pig it of LAX & you lol KNOW WHAT I mean; Just getting past TSA is a 10 mile nightmare, etc. Anyway, Baskin Robbins has been around a long time so they're (have been & still are) doing something right! :-)
They were founded in Glendale, California in 1945 well B4 this Millenial was even born; heck, they've been around B4 even my parents were born!! They're one of the best!
PS: On your Birthday - ID Required like your DL or ID card from the DMV - IF ur signed up with ALBERTSONS/SAFEWAY, they'll send U an email for a FREE PINT of Baskin Robins - they used 2 use a store card awhile back but now they identify U through your phone # (on their TOSHIBA Point Of Sale system 2ho, consequently bought IBM POS (registers typo!). divisions - how defunct - for 8.5 Billion dollars!: TOSHIBA AMERICA (since 18....yes, 1875!! 18 is NOT ) I ONLY point this out b/c it is the end of a long-time erathe end of an ERA: IBM Cash Registers which, 4 MANY YEARS, dominated the industry is now owned and operated by Toshiba America headquartered in Orange County, specifically, Irvine, California. Note: The company, though thought of as one of the 2 Japanese "giants" (SONY being the other obvious company is ACTUALLY an American Company....hence the name. Like agent Dale Cooper from "Twin Peaks" would say when I was a teen in the 90s, "Damn Fine Coffee," er "Ice Cream" in...
Read moreWe went tonight for an ice cream. We go often and drive pretty far. I always get the same thing. A double scoop 1 scoop of mint chocolate 1 scoop chocolate chip in a waffle cone. They were out of waffle cones. No big deal. It was less then 30mins before closing. I also order 1 scoop mint chocolate chip in a cup. And a 2 scoop Sunday. Because no bananas for a banana Royal. Again no big deal about the bananas. But when we got our ice creams they were a half the normal size and in smaller cones. For almost $16 we got baby scoops. I asked the kid at the window if they got smaller scoops or smaller cups. Because 2 weeks ago the scoops were bigger. I asked for a manager and he thought the ice cream scoops were an appropriate size. But a child’s cone sat on the counter and it was bigger then my double scoop, mint chocolate chip/chocolate chip. He added 1/2 of scoop more of chocolate chip. But the size still was too small for the price. We did not order baby scoops or children sizes. But that’s what we received. I was also give $2 in quarters and was shorted .04 on top of the baby scoops. You can not tell In the picture how small the scoops actually were. I have been a customer of Baskin Robins. And all my friends worked there in high school. This is the first time I have ever been fission over 30+ years and I hate complaining because I’m also in the...
Read moreI was completely ignored for over 5 minutes, even as employees walked past the window multiple times. Finally, when a car pulled up behind me, they answered him and opened the door window. The lady, named Hannah, asked for $4.50, but I explained that I had been waiting to be served. Instead of addressing the issue, Hannah accused me of riding by the menu with an attitude. Let me pause here—when it comes to ordering food, we all know to stop at the menu to place our orders, so why wouldn't I? Hannah's attitude was extremely unpleasant, even when I simply asked for the manager's number. Though I didn't call, I filled out a complaint form with corporate to address this problem as soon as possible. Keep in mind, I waited for 5 minutes and was treated as if I were in the wrong. Dealing with Hannah's attitude was heartbreaking, especially with a sad 2-year-old in tow. If the owner sees this, please contact me. I need to speak with you and show you the full video of my experience. Hannah's behavior is unacceptable and should be addressed at all levels of...
