Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Odessa

I wish I had snapped a picture/video of this place. There was flies swarming the windows (inside) and I mean SO MANY. EVERY table I passed by had finger prints not one was clean all greasy! The lady was handling money and food with the same gloves and when she asked the employee to come help i guess for training he was sitting eating his food and went straight to help gather food for us no shame lol It was absolutely horrendous I will absolutely never go back to this location or the one on 42nd theyre exactly the same. I tried going to the locations on 42nd and the same hygiene. Idk whats wrong with this company but theyre hiring just about anybody. Not even trying to hire people that will do the job right. And long johns was my favorite growing up. I loved going and getting hush puppies with chicken strips with the crunchies to eat at the end. If they changed up their managers this place could really make a comeback. Shift managers (if they even have any with how run down the place is) could make a comeback. No management is happening in these places. I am so glad I did not do the drive thru of these places. I saw exactly what I needed. Make a come back with clean and well operated systems or please CLOSE DOWN. I did NOT end up ordering after this. Left me wanting to...

The newly rebuilt Long John SIlvers open a few days ago and I was eagerly awaiting it. Today I got to try it. I wish I had better news, but my experience was less than pleasant. The new design of the building is ok. It lacks the fisherman's wharf esthetic that it used to have, but fast food isn't really about ambience. But it still was jarring watching the new building go up. But I accepted the change weeks ago. The staff was friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, they were out of large cups so my order could not be filled as I ordered it. It happens. But the food is where my tolerance ends. I ordered the #2 and the chicken was pretty small compared to what it used to be. Still tasted good, but was very shocked to see how small the portions had become. Was surprised to see waffle fries. I guess this change took place while the location was shut down and being rebuilt. I normally wouldn't be bothered by waffle fries, but the old fries were very tasty and the ones I got today were tough and anything but tasty. The hushpuppies were good. Very disappointed in the new store. Side note: It was always a challenge getting in and out of the parking lot and now that they alley has been blocked off, it's even more difficult...

I came in and one of the cooks that brought out the food to another customer immediately said" welcome in , il be with you in just a second" I was immediately impressed. Nobody here wase even 20 years old but had the basic consideration to have basic customer service. About 30 seconds later the short blond/red headed girl took my order. (I am Ray incase they read this). I got the two Baja tacos....one shrimp and one salmon with all three sauces on the side. It took. A slight extra effort to enter that into their POS but she was accommodating and more than willing to work with me and made sure to clarify what I wanted. The drive thru was full and the dining room had two other couples. I've worked in restaurants all during my 20s and 30s so I know what to look for. I'm not looking for perfection and for things to happen like magic. It always takes effort and good customer service and mistakes happen sometimes but they were great.
