Everytime I try this place, I’m trying to figure out why there are so many branches of this place throughout the state and why the drive-thru lines pack up in the evening.
The food is horrendous - and I can only speak to vegan items. I tried the chips and salsa. Chips are a greasy, oily, stale mess everytime. The bites are hard and cruel. One time, they even forgot the salsa I ordered so there’s nothing to dip with for moisture. No fresh chips ever.
I’ve only ever tried the bean and cheese burrito and while it was warm, it was not enjoyable. No flavor, no heterogeneity in the food. What are we eating for? No spice, no life.
And the cake? I’m a dessert person at heart so I have tried both the chocolate cake slice and the carrot cake slice. The choc cake on my first try many moons ago was decent - moist, not very sweet at all… but I hate walnuts, they keep getting in between the cake! But the second and third times I ordered the chocolate cake, it was abysmal and landed in the trash because of how dry and ordinary it was. Not worth the calories. The carrot cake is better but only a bit better. Still not worth it. Both options are not very sweet and are a great way to get someone to quit sugar by having such an unmemorable bite of it.
Staff is great. Food is decently expensive but still tastes awful. Everytime I end my meal from Rosa’s, I’m left with thoughts of regret instead of feelings. Maybe the meat options are better? I don’t know.
I myself would rather go...
Read moreI visited this place once through the drive thru because I was craving tamales. I bought 3 chicken tamales, expensive by the way because they were small. They were super SPICY. I was going to leave a bad review thinking they weren't good but the flavor was good. They just abuse on the peppers and it's definitely not kid friendly. Then I had dinner there another night which was a Tuesday night. It was packed and even the drive thru was long and that was because it was taco Tuesday. So, it's definitely not authentic Mexican food. The tortillas aren't homemade at all. It's like a fancier Taco Bell. The nachos were good. The soft tacos weren't as good because they weren't homemade. The tamale was a lot spicier this time so I couldn't eat the chicken which doesn't look like chicken at all. Would I go back? I really doubt it. The salsa tasted like...
Read moreMy family and I drove from Fort Worth to El Paso for family. Afterwards, we drove from El Paso to the Carlsbad caverns for the final day. After that, we starts our journey home back to Fort Worth.
I’m not sure if you guys ever traveled by far but man it gets annoying and cramped super quick. It’s about a 6 hour drive from Carlsbad to our house so we decided to find a midpoint and stop somewhere to eat. Man, was I blessed to find this Rosa’s Cafe.
We got in at around 9:15, very close to closing time. Despite that, they patiently took our order, cooked our meals, and wished us luck on the continuing drive. That meal we ate was heaven sent. Absolutely worth it. Much better than the Rosas by my house. Maybe it was the nonstop driving or the sore feet but my pain washed away when I...
