Vaqueros Over the Fire — Restaurant in Odessa

I had the $5 breakfast which consists of three pancakes, two eggs and two slices of bacon. Pancakes were good and the eggs and bacon were as well. A great value might I add. This place regularly has specials on different days until sold out. The French toast was good also. The chilaquiles here are not your traditional chilaquiles. So be aware of what your ordering. This place has a mix of traditional/street/fusion in my opinion. That being said the sauce was really good with a perfect amount of spice and the carne asada was juicy and flavorful, they use a decent quality cut of meat, you could eat this dish more like nachos if you wanted as the tortilla pieces weren't as soft as you'd find in the traditional dish. No offense intended in this review! MUST READ TIL THE END. We drove in from Cd. Juarez this morning with an appetite to feed a football team. My husband found this place on Google and based on the reviews we opted to give it a try. When we first walked in we were a bit un easy about the place, I think it may have been a convenience store at one time from the layout. It seems like the budget for remodel was kept to a minimum, but as most places that are newly available, it's not the main focus. To the young lady that answered the phone. I can not express my gratitude. Beautiful customer service . I’m from Houston and I ordered door dash for my mom. I call asking her if she could please. Do me a favor. My mono wanted French Toast with just powdered sugar. She was so sweet and friendly and said yes. Just right down on the instructions. I’ll know it’s you.
