Whataburger — Restaurant in Odessa

I came to this whataburger after a quince. I proceeded to order my food and right at the start the cashier messed up taking the order 3 times. I wasn’t upset at this point bc maybe he was having a bad day. Once our food arrived to our table my burger was incorrect and as I was walking up the manager took my burger and said he would take care of it. I then thought “it was just a mistake I’ll just wait for the new burger. But when i came back to the table turns out my friends burger was also incorrect. She returned her burger and got hers done correctly. However I have been waiting for 15 minutes (not over exaggerating) waiting for my burger that the manager said he would take care of. As I’m typing this I have yet to receive my burger. And unfortunately I will have to go to the counter to ask what happened because I’m starving. (Editing post) Hey it’s me again I’m re-editing this because I forgot to mention since I was waiting so long for my burger my friend started eating because she wasn’t waiting 20 minutes on me (literally 20 min) so my friend and I never got to eat together cause we had to leave and now I’m eating in the car. And I indeed had to go to the register and as I was walking up I know that manager saw me and still chose to walk further into the kitchen. First off, they are out of chorizo. Secondly, 20 minutes and counting for one (1) bacon taquito. After the fourth person that had ordered after me received their food I asked. I was told they were waiting on bacon. It does not take 10 minutes to cook bacon, let alone twenty. Waiting on bacon, 20 plus minutes, during breakfast time is not acceptable.

There are currently only five (5) people in this location. They are not busy.

I'd ask for a refund and go elsewhere, except I used my rewards from the app on the taquito. If you do not have their app, I recommend you get it.

I normally visit the Andrews highway or 42nd street locations. I just happened to make the mistake of choosing the 8th street location today. I'll not make that mistake again.

Now at 25 minutes and counting, no food yet. Now at 30 minutes and counting. An employee (Shara) noticed I was still waiting and took care of it. Thank you Shara.

She did give me an extra taquito and an apple pie for waiting. Too bad they were both sausage, when I just wanted a bacon taquito. I'm going to go ahead and eat, though. No telling how much longer it's going to be for the bacon to be ready.

I thanked Shara in person and asked about the bacon and she said there still wasn't any. 43 minutes after I ordered, still no bacon.

47 minutes, Shara just brought me a bacon taquito.

This store seriously needs to teach their employees how to properly make a good batch of french fries and proper food handling. I stopped going to this store awhile back because their fry game is atrocious and it's only a few blocks from my house. Every so often, I give them another shot, but this time is no different. Fries in the grease, they come out and go in the heating tray, and not a single grain of salt goes on them. Unsalted fries are just crispy baked potato strings. While I'm sitting here waiting for my order that was supposed to be ready 10 minutes ago, I also witnessed the fry cook throw away some trash, and pushed it down into the can with his gloved hand, then casually went back to handling the fries without changing gloves. Thankfully I got onion rings and I already watched him load them into a fry box with a pair of tongs. I won't be coming here for another long stretch of time. Update: I got my food and was about to get up when I witnessed the fry cook shove more trash into the piled up trash can with his gloved hand, and then continued handling fries.
