This was my first experience there and "disappointing" probably didn’t come close to describing my visit. When I walked in there were no signs on where to order or where you stand. The people behind the counter just seemed to be OK with talking to themselves and staying busy so I had no idea where to order. After waiting a few uncomfortable 5 minutes to order I find out I’ve been standing in the "waiting to receive your coffee area". When I ordered my coffee drink the guy behind the counter looked disheveled with a winter hat on, looked like he hadn’t showered or shaved in a few days and a band aid over his lower lip. Not only could he not speak real well, he couldn’t listen when I placed my order with him to clarify, three times. After a few awkward requests about my order I just ended up saying "yea......that's fine" knowing that this wasn't what I wanted and he couldn't listen. I always thought our future generation was filled with people ready to attack the world. The young guy I spoke with seemed like he was ready to attack his day after sleeping in until 2pm. This first impression was very awkward. Then when I went to sit at one the tables it was filled with dried coffee and something sticky so I moved to another table. Same thing. First impressions are lasting impressions. Not sure if I'll be back...
Read moreComing to biggby while visiting family is always something I’ve looked forward to considering there is not a location near where I live. However today was by far the worst experience I’ve had, not only with biggby but with any coffee shop I’ve ever been a customer at. Starting with ordering, the woman taking our order kept asking us to repeat every detail of our drinks. Ordering 4 drinks took far too long. Then when the barista who made our drinks finished with them just sat them out, not asking if we needed a drink tray or said have a good day. We took it upon ourselves to tray our own drinks in one of the 2 drink trays that seemed to be falling apart from being used a few too many times. Then having straws thrown down on the counter for our iced drinks was the final straw for me. With my wife being a manager of a local coffee shop back home, this would never be acceptable. Not to mention the consistency of the taste and appearance of the drinks we ordered yesterday compared to the same drinks today is...
Read moreI would like to start by saying I love the coffee here, better than the competition hands down. It’s nice to find a place I enjoy being that I’ve lived in much larger cities with a vast selection. Now for the reason for the two stars, never have I been in an establishment with more catty, rude employees. I don’t go to a coffee shop shop to be judged by my order, or for my personal appearance. I go there to get a drink that I enjoy. The past 2 times I’ve been there the whispers and and looks have been, well to put it politely, impressive for such a small city. I've grown accustomed to rudeness in Los Angeles or New York but would never expect it in a place like Lima, Ohio. There has to be a better selection of individuals to choose from for employees in this place. There are a few great people there but the ones that are not ruin it for the rest of the staff. I’ve learned to never judge one on there appearance but only by their experiences, maybe that should be a lesson to be learned...
