This mom and pop joint used to be a family favorite to eat at but things have changed quite a bit.

The food is inconsistent and tends to be very heavy with grease. My daughter had a stomach ache from eating the cheeseburger and chips from the sheer volume of grease. When I asked if a side of vegetables could be ordered in lieu of chips it, counted as an upcharge. There aren't healthy options on the kids menu and yet the staff decides to upcharge for trying to make a better choice?

The vegetable omelette was very heavy with eggs and cheese but very little filling, and the best part was the toast and hashbrowns. This individual had a stomach ache after eating there. The Briarfield salad I ordered also gave me a stomach ache. It wasn't the experience we hoped for.

Wait staff varies from helpful to neglectful. Your experience largely depends on who your waitress is. I do not recommend eating here. Waitstaff are attentive to regulars but ignores others. I'm disappointed in the changes made and am done...

Small quaint restaurant. Food was very good, but portion sizes are smaller than before. I had the veggie omelette which was delicious. It was served with a choice of hash browns or home fries and toast. Prices are reasonable. My biggest complaint, is this place always seems to lack adequate staff. We were second on the wait list and still had to wait 15 minutes, even though a dirty table sat vacant. It seemed that the server's were more interested in handling the curbside orders. It also appeared that no one wanted to assume the responsibility of clearing the table and seating the people waiting. If staffing is such an issue, then the owners should decide on which takes priority. Curbside or dine in. Obviously they can't handle both. It's not fair to their employees or the customer's waiting. Or maybe the owners should be there, just...

Visiting Toledo from Virginia (DC area) and followed the positive reviews to Briarfield Cafe. From the outside looked like many other joints - strip mall, clean. Entering was a great surprise - a crowd (always an excellent sign) and a wonderful mural of Paris - having been there I never expected a Paris Cafe in Toledo. The food lived up to the owners' goals - excellent. Special shout out to Paula our server. David (owner) please take notice and reward her. At the check out was the obituary of the wife half of the Cafe (sympathies) from three years ago. Glad to see it still going strong (and remembering their roots. Highly recommended. A non-chain jewel in an unexpected setting. GO!

PS only suggestion is that staff be informed of location of...

I ordered food on 7/4. The omelette was not full and didn’t have the extra items I ordered. I called the restaurant to let them know of the issue. They were polite at the moment & told me they wrote my name down for a credit for a new omelette. 7/7 I called to get the credit. They told me my name was not wrote down but the lady who answered the phone told me she worked that day & still gave it to me. I went to restaurant to pick the order up I did not get greeted all the cashier said was “2.99” as soon as I walked up. Literally no “Hello!” or anything!! I’m thinking like “ok?” So I payed for my food & asked if i could please get syrup. She gave me the syrup but never said have a nice day or anything..but greeted the people behind me with big smiles. Just felt not welcomed!!!

Not too often do I post reviews just never been my thing but, when I tell you this place is a must visit take my word for it. Yes they can be busy at times and you may have to wait 10 minutes for a table but it is absolutely worth it! There’s a gas station right across the street go fill up your tank while you wait come back and enjoy a nice hearty breakfast/lunch meal! Now let’s talk about the food it’s 100% authentic no corners cut or additives to be found. Just as if you were to cook in your own kitchen. The staff is exceptional and very attentive keeping your cup of joe filled to brim whenever they walk by. All around this place is a complete 💎 stop by and find out for yourself?
