My son (18) has beautiful, naturally curly hair but his ears stick out. When he was 14 yrs old, he got a haircut that was too short and the kids teased him mercilessly (Jr. High kids can be so cruel). He vowed never to get his hair cut again. Fast forward 4 years...my son was the Best Man in his Dad's wedding and wanted to get his hair cut. Enter Amy at Hair Chiasso in Maumee. Amy is a Curl Specialist. But, more than that, she is a listener. She listened to my son's fear. She listened when he said he was tender-headed. She LISTENED. On top of that, she gave him a stellar cut. My son went in expecting the worst (see picture below). But after 4 years, I have a kid that is holding his head high. He said: He said "Mom, this is the ONLY time I've walked out feeling better than when I went in. I don't think she knows exactly what that means to me." As a mom, it doesn't get much better than that. Photos below are Before the haircut. The one with the sunglasses is AFTER the haircut. Amy is AMAZING. 10/10 Highly recommend.

I have been working with Kalina Lopez at this salon for 3+ years and I always leave the salon happy. I've been a few different shades of red and deep purples for years and in one session, Kalina was able to give me the most beautiful tealy-emerald that exactly matched my inspiration pictures. If you want a colorist that is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and more or less a miracle worker, get an appointment with Kalina. You won't be disappointed. You can check her Instagram out @kalinaathairchiasso I recently started getting Shellac manicures from Britney Henning here when I started to get close to my wedding. She does amazing free hand art, but more importantly cares about the health of your nails. She's a wonderful person to work with and I'm very excited for my next set. Her Instagram handle is @britneyathairchiasso

It’s been a long time since I got my hair cut, and my experience with Amelia was wonderful. I was interested in donating, and Amelia was confident, knowledgeable and made sure to check the donation requirements for the nonprofit I picked. She went the extra mile and made sure it was properly dry before cutting and packaged it correctly! The curly cut she gave me is great and she took the time to explain her technique and the products she was using. I would recommend her to anyone with my hair texture! Thank you, Amelia!

I just recently moved to the Toledo area and was scared to try a new hair salon because truly you never know what you are going to get. I chose this salon based upon their reviews and the fact that they are a "one stop shop" (waxing, manicures, pedicures, hair cuts, coloring, etc.). When you walk into the salon you are greeted right away by the friendly staff. You are seated in a very spacious waiting area and wait less than five minutes before being taken for your service. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and each person is an "expert at something" (so if your stylist isn't 100% sure about something, they will get you to the person who is). I have been to the salon three times so far. My first experience was with Makayla who performed a shadow root on my hair. She is a very friendly, talented stylist who did such a wonderful job. I went back for another appointment (with a different stylist) and unfortunately, due to some miscommunication (I booked for a touch up but changed my mind and wanted a different color completely with the addition of highlights) my hair didn't turn out quite like I had hoped. I called the salon the next day and spoke to the manager Jim, not expecting much to come out of it. I was pleasantly surprised when Jim said he would love an opportunity to fix my hair and all at no cost to me. During our many conversations, he did give me his personal cellphone number so I could reach him directly. He checked in with me regularly to ensure I was happy with each service and made sure I was completely taken care of at my third visit. One thing he said to me that really stuck out was, " I don't care about how much the service costs, as long as you are happy with your hair. I am more concerned about retaining you as a client and ensuring that you are happy with our service". I don't know about you, but I have not seen that kind of response from a manager in any industry. During my third visit (where my hair was fixed), I got to work with the most wonderful stylist, Trish. She is so knowledgeable and completely honest. She advised me on different products (without selling me any products in the salon!!), explained the entire process to me, and kept checking in on me to ensure my hair was processing correctly. She gave me a full consultation (up front with cost) and advised me of the services that she performs as well as recommended me other stylists who may be better versed in the services she doesn't perform. She stayed an entire hour past closing time and never once rushed my service just to "get out on time". The staff at Hair Chiasso are honestly just so amazing and I am looking forward to going back!

Just a tip before your appointment that caused some confusion for me :)

When you book an appointment, make sure you know what you are looking for and don't change it. For example, if you are booking for an overall color, it may be hard for them to accommodate adding a hair cut on the date of your appointment (they do blocked booking, which means no wait...

Beautiful salon but definitely paying high dollar for this salon. When booking appointment. I asked how much balayage was and she'd stated $180 so I knew that coming here but when the stylist seen my hair she said her balayage start off at way higher than that because she just got promoted and my hair was longer..... So when she was flipping through my hair she was appalled that I used Sally beauty hair dye, she stated that I definitely missed some spots in my hair but this is why I was coming to a salon to get it all corrected and definitely fixed. I kind of went on a whim this last year doing it myself so I was ready to get some highlights or balayage put into my hair. Give it that sun kiss look. She then stated how dried my hair was and I should probably just chop it all off. You need to go shorter, just chop it start regrowing. Well that was clearly not going to happen. I've always had long hair. I asked her if there was some other option that we could do that might not be so expensive. She stated baby lights okay, let's do that. She then stated that there will be a charge for every time she has to go get a bowl of bleach. My appointment was at 10:15 in the morning and I did not leave till 2:00. She put baby lights in my hair and then reassured me. I was getting such a bargain deal. Such a bargain deal. When I went to check out it was $174. I left her $20 tip cash. So 3 hr. 45 mins to some baby lights..... Then she had the audacity to rave about the beautiful color of my hair. No honey. That's my Sally beauty box dye that I used. You just threw some bleach in my hair... In the picture Bob is the before and after both taking in my car. Same amount of lighting almost. I just don't want somebody to go through what I went through. I did my research on the stylist via the website and it said meet the team pick whatever stylist suits your needs and when I scroll down to what they were good at balayage. No I didn't want to call and talk to the manager as I don't plan on ever coming back to the salon again. I've never felt like my money is meant less to a salon. I mean I guess spending $190 isn't good enough for salon like this, or at least that's the way that lady made me feel... I almost got out of her chair within the first 5 minutes but it made me really sad because I was trying to show up for me and to have a change to make me feel better about myself but lesson learned onto a new salon. Maybe one that will...

I would have to rate the stylist I've seen, Esther, 5 stars; the owner, 1 star. She was incredibly passive aggressive in her tone when I presented for an appointment with the aforementioned stylist, who turned out to be out on medical leave. I was unaware of this when I arrived (obviously) and when I presented at the desk, she advised of such, stating she made a special appearance at the salon today to support her reception team. (This insinuated she was prepared for an argument immediately). There were communications not received on my end, whereas she had mentioned (repeatedly) that she had used a phone service to call and advise of the cancellation, as well as making a point to state that "I even reached out with my personal phone to try and get a hold of you, and received no answer." I was not arguing with her on this failure in communication, as we all know technology is not perfect, and simply stated that I only received confirmation texts from an automated number (and said along the lines of 'o wow, definitely did not' in genuine surprise regarding cancelation notices), which I responded to each time. I would have been more than happy to reschedule in the meantime, as things happen, with another stylist, but the owner positively presented poorly with her rude demeanor and passive aggressive statements ("Oh, well, if you're not receiving messages than I'm worried for your phone!") As I walked back to my car, it hit me that I did receive a text the night prior, and due to the ambiguity of the message, figured it was a wrong-number-text. The text did not identify who (person or place) that was contacting me and what for. I assume that the rest of the stylists are fantastic, but buyer beware of the owner, as there is poor communication on her behalf and a tendency to be "right" even if the situation does not even call for a right v wrong. If you are a stylist looking to work there, if she is rude to customers, I can only imagine the dreadful manner she treats her employees or booth renters. Should the owner read this, and in looking at the responses from prior reviews, I assume she will, here is a template professionals use to advise clients of any updates via text: "Hello, this is (name) from/with (place). (Situation happened) and we are reaching out to notify you. (Insert options if relevant after update). (Contact...
