My wife and I make a nostalgic visit to Bob’s every now and then, mostly “then”, because the visits are almost always a disappointment. And it’s not simply contained to any one of their restaurants. There used to be something pleasing and comforting in having a meal there, but anymore, it’s just not, there’s always something just not right. The food is for the most part still good tasting, haven’t lost much there. Last night it was the presentation that ruined the meal for me. Who serves green beans on the same plate as fried chicken and French fries. The fries and the chicken are now no longer crispy. And I guess the meeker [less than half] portion of fries (smaller the McDonalds small bag) was to my advantage – less to get soggy. The beans should have been placed in a small bowl and then added to the plate. Further, they must have sat far too long in the warmer probably should have been tossed much earlier, or were over microwaved, the taste was good, texture however, terrible. If you ignore the soggy crust, the chicken was up to their norm, very good. Service, well, it matches everyone’s these days, understaffed, taxed but pleasant, so slow at times with apologies of course, but doing their best nonetheless. And finally, the checkout. Now I know it was probably a fluke, but it took over 15 minutes to check out at the register due to I.T. malfunctions. However, the root cause of the delays appeared to come from their protocol, no one could bypass the system or switch off to another register without a major ordeal. Final complaint and question, why are there no longer itemized receipts and only a record of my CC charges? Who cares about that, my CC will have that info to me within minutes, nay seconds, of the transaction. I’d like an itemized reference of...
Read moreI visited B.Evans in Maumee earlier today with my family. We waited 20 minutes for our food before the waitress came out and told us they didn't have country fried steak. We had 3 orders of it. They said they have none. After waiting 20 minutes for our food. We then waited another 25 minutes before we got our food. Meanwhile she only came around for one drink. No refill. We sat there with no drinks while waiting for our food. She then brought our food without our biscuits. And no drinks. We ALSO didn't have our GRAVY for the chicken we got in place of the country fried steak. She said it would be a minute. By the time she brought it, we all had eaten our chicken. I also ordered a side of Cole slaw. That came AFTER the gravy and basically the entire meal. The Cole slaw tasted rancid. I didn't eat it. After we ate and I paid my bill for all 5 of us I sat and listened to the phone ring over and over and over while I could hear the girls at the counter talk about how they are too busy to answer the phone. They laughed so hard back and forth about that joke they made. There was absolutely noone in the restraunt. Us and One other small table. I've never been so disgusted by a waitress and restraunt as a whole. The food was mediocre at best. I wouldn't be surprised if this location is amongst the list of locations to be shut down. This place has gone down the drain. I felt like I was being robbed when paying the 66 dollar tab....
Read moreThree of us we're greeted as we walked in the door and got seated right away. Our server, Ian, came and took our drink order right away. He was extremely friendly and fast. The rest of the experience was b.s.! He placed our order and the kitchen microwaved one order of meatloaf and placed it under the heat lamp, while it took 10+ minutes for the other two items to be prepared. As the food came out we saw the meatloaf wasn't a slice, more like chunks placed on the plate, and of course it was no longer hot, let alone warm. The sandwich that was ordered was made incorrectly, and after it was remade they left the original fries on the plate, cold and soggy. The other side item with the sandwich was made incorrectly. We were informed the meatloaf would take extra time to prepare and Ian suggested to order new sides, and then the chef argued with Ian within hearing range about having to remake the side correctly. We spoke with a manager who hardly had the people skills to communicate, let alone correct the issue. We ended up having to pay for one entree (the only correct item) and will be contacting the...
