Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Ohio

Dined here last week since they sent me a free appetizer promotion. Got the cheese fries which were SOOO good the last time we got them but this time they were a little over done but hey..they were free so you don't want to make a huge deal...ordered fajitas and they came out sizzling and smoking..they were good...waitress at this point was very pleasant and accommodating. Our 6 year old got his kids meal and added an extra side of fries since it's only $1 to add an extra side..we also placed a take out order for my FIL. Long story short when the bill came there were a few charges that were not right. The waitress charged us $2.99 for the side of fries for the kids meal and my FIL added chili to his entree which should have been $4.89..instead she rang up $5.89 + a 50 cent extra charge.. I understand we are talking just a couple dollars but when my husband asked her about it her whole attitude changed. Suddenly she was very dismissive and said she would get the manager. The manager never came but she did come back with a handwritten corrected bill that she TOSSED on the table and kept walking. We gave her the payment and my husband got up to go have a cigarette. She brought the receipt over and tossed it over my shoulder on the table. When my husband was coming back through he stopped at the waitress station to apologize for "upsetting" her and she got even more attitude and started arguing with him in front of everyone. When he said you really are having a poor attitude about this she said yeah well sorry you feel that way...the manner in which she conducted herself was very unprofessional...thinking that may be our final visit no matter how many free apps...

My family and I have always enjoyed dining at Chili's in the past, but this experience ruined it for us to the point where we will likely never return.

The server was outright rude (I won't mention her name directly in this review, but I would really like to). I never expect a server to go out of their way to be overly friendly to my family, but when she walked up to the table, she was short and it's where it started. Between being unable to be found for the bill, not taking plates away, and having a cold attitude towards my kids, I don't know how she hasn't had more addressed issues. I worked in food service for a long time, so I did my best to be nice, but there was no excuse - from our table, at least - about how we were treated. All the food came out at the same time except for mine. Half of my food was severely undercooked. This server made a rare family outting we got to have into a crappy expereince.

I actually made a more private review via Chili's website where I noted I didn't want anything - the experience was so bad I had to let them know. I was "gifted" a cheap restaurant credit and told "sorry". This was all done through a third party service, so clearly the restaurant didn't see my issue. I responded to the third party service and never heard back. This was the final straw for me. Since the Boardman Chili's is unable to take the time to respond to those who have poor (or great) experiences, I figure a more public forum would have to suffice.

this has always been my favorite restaurant..the first time it was disappointing is may 18 , 2021 we took 10 people to celebrate my oldest daughters birthday. it was not busy, we got seated right away yet waited 55 minutes for our food very burnt steak, cold corn and nasty salads...well we just tossed it off as a bad day, new cook maybe ect..2d time was june 2021...same..got seated. not a busy time waitress came within 5 minutes but..........25 minutes later came back to give drinks, take our order...we was very aggravated. 62 minutes later our once again steaks were burnt beyond taste...we asked the waitress to please have 4 of them remade and 45 minutes later on a non busy day they came out. everyone else had been done with dinners and over it so we took them to go and when we got home there were so bad reheated we fed them to our dogs... fast forward to last night..august 15, 2021..we had been out all day school cloths shopping and 6 of us were starved and really didn't want to go again but everyone else were on 1 hour wait on a sunday at dinner time ( sigh) we will never go back to the boardman ohio location !!!! nice waitress..came 5 minutes after we sat down took drink orders and came back 20 minutes later and took our order..40 minutes later we for the third time recieved nasty burnt steak even after ordering it med instead of well done !!! nasty salad cold street corn that was probably from yesterdays left over it was so stale.....goodbye to our once loved boardman chilis ..we know now why you always have seating !!!! shape up with your cooks and timing and quality of your food or you will be gone out...
