Coaches Burger Bar — Restaurant in Ohio

My husband I went to Coaches in Poland, OH yesterday, August 27, 2024 around 4:30 P.M. for dinner. When we got there, there were two people in the dining room and a few at the bar.

When the waitress came to take our drink order, I asked her if I could give her our food order at the same time and she said yes. I ordered water and an all American Burger with the lettuce, tomato, onion, etc. on the side. My husband and I split the burger. We also ordered the hot chips and I told her we wanted them crispy. My husband ordered an iced tea.

The chips were soggy and greasy, I had to go the the bar and ask for our drinks (we were almost done with our meal). When she FINALLY brought the water and iced tea, she said since she did not go in the usual order of the drink order first and then getting the food order, it threw off her system....what? We ordered two food items and two drinks and that threw off your system?

Then, the burger came with lettuce, which we did not want on the burger, we requested it be on the side. The coleslaw tasted sour.

At that point, we just wanted out of there. The waitress never offered drink refills or anything.

We were there in July and Lisa was great!!! I could see if the place was really busy but it was not.

We will not be back!!! Service and food are hit or miss...never consistent!!!

My husband and I went there on Saturday, July 13 and had amazing service from Lisa!!! She was very kind and friendly! We got the hot chips and hamburger!! The taste of the burger was amazing compared to the last time we were there about a month ago when the hamburger did not have any flavor. I would highly recommend this...

Impressive! My uncle took me here for my birthday. I have been looking for a good burger and this is the best I have found in the area. However, I wasn't expecting to be impressed, another BDubs, instead I was impressed! I had the peppercorn mushroom and swiss burger, which was not a disappointment; 4/5, but their onion tanglers were the hit of the meal; 5/5 they also come with a great garlic cream sauce which was also 5/5. We were also pleasantly surprised with the cinnamon butter sauce that came with the sweet potato fries, very nice; like a dessert. These were some of the best sweet potato fries I have ever had; 5/5.

We decided to get a round of salted caramel pretzel shakes and they were very good; 4/5. The whipped cream was thick, not like spray can. The shakes were also very large, I would recommend the junior size.

Also of note was that their Coca Cola was very good;5/5, "better than canned coke", was the comment and consensus.

The service was superb; 5/5. My glass was refilled 4 times and only one of those times was it actually empty. The service was not intrusive and was competent, understood and delivered all the little things we asked for.

Finally, the atmosphere was great. They have a ceiling! This is not a "burger barn" where you are herded like cattle and waiting to serve yourself. I am pretty introverted and this is a place I would feel comfortable going and eating alone as well as with friends.

We are looking forward to going back on my uncle's birthday later this...

Definitely will never step foot near this place again. Figured we would try something different. The place was not busy at all when we got there. The waitress was sweating profusely and claiming it was too busy. A drunk patron who must work there as well was helping make food and drinks. She was bragging about how it was her birthday and celebrates it as a two day event. She was slamming back Coors Light like it was a gallon of water on a hot and humid day. Our milkshakes were dropped by the drunk patron/worker who was making them twice. Took 35 minutes just to get the milkshakes. My milkshake was warm/melted. I couldn't even drink it. It was like warm milk was all. We were trying to get the attention of a waitress to get our bill and then leave prior to getting the meals so we could go elsewhere. Then our food came out well after an hour, so we figured we'd try it. The burger was extremely old and dry. Definitely was sitting for a long time. The burger on the salad was the same. We had $30 taken of our bill and still wasn't worth the $16 we spent. Wish I didn't spend a dime there. Owner needs to re-evaluate what is going on. A friend of mine was eating there at the same time and said theirs were all terrible too. Doesn't even deserve one star rating. John Taffer would have a field day with this place. Would make a good episode...
