Lee's chicken, fairly localized and started in Ohio, is a great fast food chicken joint that I often boast is better than KFC! Highly recommend, stopping in one, if you ever pass during travels. The Newark, OH location had polite employees, prompt service, and the food was as tasty as I've always recollected and believed it to be. Sadly, this restaurant has been around for awhile and it shows. The dining room was nice enough, tables were clean, floor was swept, and the old entertainment decor is appealing. But, the building appears quite dated, and behind the scenes beaten. Kitchen looked rough, bathrooms weren't upkept well, and the pop machines and other thing's were totally out of order. From a day to day operations standpoint, great customer service and great food. From an overall company standpoint, this location is in dire need of updates, and desperately needs corporate to put some cash back into it and give it the appeal it had in the past. It isn't an appealing place to eat, overall, and certainly for those who don't know the chain, may be a factor that drives new would be customers, away.

My parents wanted to meet here. My dad loves liver and gizzards and says they have the best! We ate and hung out for a long time. The food was good but the service was excellent. The young lady taking orders was so welcoming and friendly. She welcomed us and thanked us when we left. The owner also stuck his head in the drive thru to thank us for coming in too. The biscuits are delicious and so was the chicken bowl. They have an outdoor seating area, dining area is open and clean and the drive thru is open as well. It was a great experience. They also offer catering services.

I have gone to Lee's many times over the past few years but this evening was exceptional. They young ladies greeted my wife and I promptly as we walked through the door. They we quite busy in the drive thru but they were efficient in taking our order. The young lady taking our order was very polite and friendly, she brought our dinner to our table and was very pleasant in doing so. Hat's off to you young lady. Keep up the great service. P.S. It is of my opinion that Lee's has the best chicken in town.

I have found the staff at this location to be rude and the management to be incompetent. How this company can stay in business that way it is being run is costing this company money and the female manager doesn’t care. Today they were putting their latest LBGTQ on display at the register and he (or whatever he identifies as) was more focused on his makeup than getting the order billed correctly. When I informed him that the price wasn’t right he said I should have just left it because it would have been better for me. That is how businesses go under. Come to find out my order (that the female manager had made) was wrong. They took my plate and gave me the corrected meat portion of the meal without my Sides (that were left). I tried to speak to the manager about how her and her staffs actions were costing the company money but she got snotty and marched off. I understand having to hire people to fill special interest jobs. But this does not mean that the person was hired to turn your business into a circus they were hired to do a job. There is a line that everyone can cross that is a breach of company policies and practices and is offensive to customers who are merely there for the product or service that you provide and nothing more. In my personal opinion the manager put her time and attention on SHOWING OFF her new employee rather than making sure He or She did their jobs correctly. As I tried to explain that I ended up being overcharged the manager responded that their prices had gone up She didn’t check the bill once again she just made a bad presumption...

Called at opening for an order ( semi large) to be paid for over the phone, for a pick up at a later time. The young lady that took my order and was absolutely fantastic tried her best! She was absolutely wonderful. Then, she can't process my order, because she doesn't know how.

Red flag1: people from the kitchen could be heard on the call complaining about the time/ size of the order. The lady on the phone had to reassure those people more than once ( in customer ear shot) it was for a later time. I'm sure her stress level was escalating. Why is she fielding that nonsense, and why could the customer hear the complaining? Where's management?

Red flag 2: GM on vacation, owner on a catering job, current staff had no idea how to process this over the phone, despite the fact they have an online order option. This leads me to believe it's absolutely possible if you cater and offer online orders. Evidently, there's no training to allow an employee to conduct business without a supervisory override? I don't know, That's unfortunate.

Red flag 3: heard staff in back say outloud to have the customer come in and pay, or use Doordash. If those were viable options I'd definitely had done that. Extremely unprofessional.

Too bad. After a 2 year pandemic and a life of living no touch, virtual transactions seem to be a complete mystery to this establishment. Not that it matters, but customer...

Walking up to the entrance doors, I almost turned around. The entry door looked oily and dirty. But I proceeded anyways because I was craving some chicken. Went to the restroom to wash up. The panels at the bottom of the entry doors to the restroom were missing? As I walked in, one of the male workers walked out of the bathroom stall and straight to the cooking area. Never washing his hands. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and hope that there was a wash station in the kitchen he planned on using. I wash up and head to the counter to order. The same employee was in the cooking area, literally using his bare hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead. The other co-worker was standing there talking to him and he looked filthy and his hair looked like he washed it in the cooking oil. And the pink haired female employee was using a filthy rag to wipe the food prep area with. Suddenly I wasn't hungry any longer. Can't actually rate the food, but the management needs to Crack down on the employees to do better with hygiene and personal cleanliness. Also the urinal had a huge build up of urine film and reeked of...
