I have dealt with kiosks all my life and have no problem with them. Sheetz' marvelous kiosks were my breakfast companions for years while I was on the road. Taco Bell is attempting to emulate them, and the design is actually not bad. However, it does not manage to answer all questions about menu options. Having a question that required an answer from an actual human, I waited for someone from the line to come to the counter for a brief exchange. When someone did come, it turned out to be a prospective employee who was leaving. This was communicated by the young manager. When I tried to ask my question, she pointed to her headset and curtly said, "I can't hear you," and went back to her line work.
I could see that she was stressed by her work and, given that the owner put in the kiosk to reduce labor demands, I understood the staff shortage she must have been facing to bring her to the point that she could be rude to two old boomers she thought wouldn't use a kiosk.
Though I could hear the exhaustion and frustration in her voice, i dont blame her. This problem was created by the owner of this restaurant. There was virtually no one in the Taco Bell, and it was dirty. We left and went across the street to Arby's. We were greeted by a young man who was mopping the floor, and everything was spotless, and the place was packed. There was a pleasant woman behind the counter who took our order politely, and we did not have to deal with a kiosk. We spent over twice the money we were planning to at Taco Bell.
The owner of the Taco Bell saved a person or two per shift with the kiosk but I, for one, will NEVER eat there again. Furthermore, now you know what I know and you do whatever you want with this information. The fish sandwiches at Arby's were terrific, by the way.
I suspect that, while Arby's prices are higher, they offer much better service and value - and maybe higher wages and benefits, or at the very least, they are not afraid to...
Read moreThey are the worst Taco Bell around. The night mananger is rude and jumped me and said he would not serve me. Because we had a truck and trailer on the parking lot. When we were not blocking anything. My boyfriend was moving the truck. He jumped me in the Restaurant and said he would not serve us. He jumped my boyfriend first. I can tell you I will tell everyone knowhow we were treated. I will never set foot on that property again . Trust me I know a lot of people. They were having a hard time getting food orders out. There was a couple in there that was mad because how long it took to get their food. I was afraid I was going to get shot in there. The manager jumped boyfriend first. I’ve worked in food service for many years and I was a manger also. I never treated anyone like this. They didn’t even have much business. Couldn’t handle what they had. We are local residents. Believe me I will tell everyone I know. My boyfriend is 78 yeas old with...
Read moreI have never been treated so terribly, talked to so recklessly, disrespected, or dismissed due to taking " too long to order in the drive thru" and THEN having to return bc our entire order was messed up. The employees and manager literally lined up to curse us out one by one, told us they were calling the police, refused to replace our order or even attempt to right their wrong doing...THEN proceeded to curse me saying I was being warned that I was gonna get an EXTRA ticket when the police did get there due to coming back through the drive thru to get our order corrected. Our cinnabons are so overcooked that they are dry and don't have hardly any icing inside of them left. Our crunchy taco supremes didn't have sour cream on them at all but refused to replace or even give me a few sides of sour cream on the side. The most absurd visit I have ever had at any place of business in...
