I do not like to write negative reviews and I did post one for the Dock at their request, but I don't think it was on google. My opinion is unfortunately the restaurant is going down hill since COVID. We used to go there a couple times a year and haven't been in at least a year. We went on a Friday night for our wedding anniversary. Barely ate anything all day excited about dinner. We did do call ahead seating and were seated right away. but we were seated in the tiniest two person table right next to the entertainment. It was loud. And not much room. I did not ask to be moved because they were busy and I didn't see any other tables around. No bread anymore??? I guess not, that was the first shocker. They also no longer sell the Riesling wine we always ordered there, according to the waitress. Our cocktails were very weak, but did taste good. Overpriced I felt. We ordered small plate of fried clam strips for an appetizer and those were awesome, fresh and hot. The rest of the meal was horrible, overpriced, overcooked and cold. I ordered Sea scallops. they were not normal sea scallops. they looked more like bay scallops to me. I eat scallops all the time. they didnt' look burnt but they tasted burned and were way overcooked. There was no way I was paying for them. Even the baked potato tasted burned for some reason. It came off my bill, I sent it all back and did not re-order. My husband ordered the weekend special which was a seafood bucket with 3 types of crab and shrimp. The portion does not reflect bucket size. And it was $53.00!! All the crab was rubber, overcooked and cold. there was black stuff on some of the actual meat!!! We were both so hungry that we just ate it. I told the waitress at the end because she was nice and we usually like that place. She then apologized to me and told me that in fact they had checked the scallops and agreed with me. What???? did you eat my scallops I sent back? Did you not trust my complaint? She also told me they were new scallops which I think meant from a new supplier. I would think you'd test the size and taste before purchasing and serving to customers. She apologized for everything but other than removing the scallop dinner from the bill did nothing else. She also told me there was a new chef/cook. Judging by some of the other comments, that might be the issue or at least one of them. For a few cocktails and a seafood "bucket" it was $125!!! I am not sure we'd go back until some changes are made or at all. It was VERY disappointing. I will end on this note. It's almost always been good before and again the clams were great, and the salads were good but when you have such an awful meal plus a different vibe and bad seating, it's hard to get that out of your head....especially for the...
Read moreOne of the worst dinning experiences ever. The Dock in enon Ohio. I paid $35 for four small crab legs, a small fatty steak, a cold baked potato and one beer.
My wife got 3 tiny burned crab cakes and fries for $17.99. And my child (9yo) got a small portion of fries and THREE fried shrimp ( the kind of breaded shrimp you buy frozen at Kroger for 5.00 a pound.... I thought they would be big prawn size or extra large but nope.... 3 tiny breaded shrimp) and her meal was 6.99!
Now, along with my wife's one glass of wine and a sliver of chocolate cake for my daughter my bill was over $84.
Well, that is about what we expected to spend.... however, we are now sitting at our table waiting for my credit card and discussing WHRE TO GO EAT because ALL THREE of us are STILL very very hungry!
Two adults and a 9 year old should not spend nearly $100 and leave hungry! (I wish we had taken pictures of this ridiculously small portions they gave us. It was shockingly absurd).
Besides the small portions, the waitress seemed indifferent to our very existence, she vaguely answered questions about the menu, we had to ask twice if we could have rolls like the other guests received when they were seated, and the food was just mediocre at best! If I could give it zero stars I would!
Oh, and we even called ahead for reservations but still waited over 15 minutes while they seated several walk-ins ahead of us (and yes we had requested first available table).
I wish I could think of something positive to say, but all this place has to offer is overpriced small portions of deep fried bar food they disguise as "seafood", served by incompetent staff. I'm really disgusted I wasted my time...
Read moreIt was a very good experience overall! My first time dining there in Enon, Ohio. We ordered our food & had some time to catch up & discuss various topics that were relevant & current. The food took a great long time to be prepared! We even joked with our server that the boat they took to catch everything must have been caught in a bad storm! Even taking my turn to use the restroom didn't help! My niece used the restroom & came back to our table. Her parents waited patiently for the food to arrive. My trip to the restroom went okay. The walk back to our table revealed that our food was still delayed somehow. Finally! 2 plates of crab legs, a plate with green beans & a well dine pork chop, then my bowl of Cajun pasta & shrimp.
I stated that I didn't order this! It had taken so long for the food to be presented that my mind forgot to remember what exactly my choice had been! There were in fact 3 things I'd considered ordering. One was $19.99! The pasta & shrimp was $13.99. The 2nd choice might have been a salad but a salad came with whatever entree you desired.
Pepsi was my drink of choice. Pepsi products were the go to beverages for this establishment. 3 Pepsi's later... Oy vey! Also got one to go!
Great place only one exit & 5 miles or less from my apartment complex. Band or musician playing in the room next to where we were seated. Waiters & waitresses had to pull open the door to go in & out. Patrons too! No t-shirts available because they were out of them!
Go see this gem for yourselves. If you're not very patient you might want to bypass this one. Worth the wait! Try it & discover a new...
