I have been supporting this establishment for many years and my family for countless before that. Uptown pizza is quite literally our favorite pizza joint, a staple in our house, which makes a statement with all of the options Youngstown has to offer….. that being said, we are closing this chapter indefinitely. I cannot begin to describe the disrespect I received from the 20 something punk answering the phone and cashing people out. I was told when I called it would be an hour for my order to be complete, I arrive an hour later, knowing that they were busy, added a few more small items (fried jalapeño poppers to be more specific) to the order after confirming it would be about 10 minutes by said 20 something and that my pizza order had ”about 15 more minutes until it was ready” so there would be no delay caused by the apps. Great, 15 minutes no problem! I went out and sat in my car, and returned 20 minutes later, giving them a few extra minutes to complete the order, watching people come and go with theirs. I approach the cashier 30 minutes after my original order was supposed to be ready and he tells me it’s going to be “at least 15 more minutes” and I replied with you said that 30 minutes ago, he responded with “well we are really busy”, to which I replied “I am aware, it’s always busy here, but instead of telling e people the wait is only 1 hour, you should be truthful as I’ve been waiting for almost 2 hours for an order that you told me would be ready in 1 hour,” (and I listened to him say the same thing to 30 other people while I was waiting near the counter)… this KID responded in a nasty tone with “ we’re busy and if you don’t like it why don’t you just come behind the counter and yell at them.” I wasn’t being disrespectful I was simply stating that if you know you are busy and you can’t pump out 50 orders in 1 hour stop telling people an unrealistic time frame to pick up and then thinking it’s okay to make them stand and wait for an additional hour. And to boot when I finally left 57 minutes later, my apps had been sitting on the counter for lord knows how long waiting for the rest of my order and were cold. We love the food, we’d have waited the 2 hours, but now you lost our business because the ignorant college kid from OU felt it was okay to talk to me like dirt. Sorry Uptown, DO BETTER FOR THOSE WHO KEEP YOU...
Read moreWent to uptown for years, I know they switched owners and all but I did not think that the integrity, morals and customer service would have went down the tubes that fast, so unprofessional so rude, food is made sloppy, take pride in what you are making and selling, don't just throw slop at someone, customers come in and choose your pizza shop to eat at and spend their money at, and that's the treatment you get attitude from the white women with black hair telling me to stop looking at what's going on behind the counter, she went back into the kitchen part and said to a guy she called Vinny what's she keep staring at rolled her eyes cameback out to wait on a table and kept giving me dirty looks. All I was doing was waiting on my food to come out, it's natural to look around didn't know I wasn't allowed to, guess she wanted me to stare at the floor, waited an extra 17 minutes when i came in to pick up the food on top of the 35 minutes I was told it would be. Paid for it cashier tells me 2 minutes which turned into the 17 minutes , I just patiently waited then encountered the rude women I mentioned above. When my name was called I walked up got the food was told we r busy and humans if you have a problem. OMG I never said or gave the impression i was upset i get it your busy but no need to talk and address anyone like that, i feel they made my food horrible on purpose and left stuff out, guess i wasnt their kind of customer they wanted. Never will i be back to either locations. Its a shame for owner and management to allow their workers to.act like this. Guess they act the same way. I'll consider the source and understand they dont get paid well and are trying to learn how to make pizzas, but in order to succeed for your business and for your job try and be more professional and have some manners and cleaniseness about you....
Read moreI have never been three but have heard about it so I stopped only to find that they were closed for Labor Day. It is great for companies who need to have special days to get together and have fun. Kudos for that! I'm sure my rating well improve of the quality of the food is s good as that quality from the owner. I look forward to having chance to stop in. I speed the next day. The service was very friendly. It was a carry out pizza. U had to get somewhere before. They did it would be about 20 minutes. I told them I would have to do my errands and come back. I didn't get back until account 5:20. The had kept it in the warmer for me do the kids was still hot. The dough is made at the main restaurant mix and machine looked a by having and hand tossed, and panned every day to send here. The crust flavors and textures are really good. The sauce was on the meh side. Tomatoes and if you looked young could find an hint of salt and maybe some garlic. Pizza sauce if a sitcom thing. It is complex, well seasoned and on the thinner side. This sauce was none of those. It is a fairly great pizza. The pizza was fairly greasy, with pepperoni bring did much day. This did the smart thing and put the pepperoni under the cheese. Kudos to you for that! Most places never figure out the fairly greasy from the pepperoni is much better from the highly greasy pizza from last place. Definitely on the very good side of pizza...
