So sad. I have eaten at Wedgewood Pizza in Austintown and Boardman for 30 years, literally every month. I also used to have our work crew meet daily at the Austintown location and get slices throughout the summer. Fernando would almost always be there making pizza and checking the quality. What a great guy and awesome product he had. He always said never go down on your quality, and he proved it.
Since he has been gone its been hit or miss, but just today took the cake. 18.25 for a half sheet half cheese and half pepperoni? Hey ill pay it, but when I get home and open the box, i notice something. The half with cheese only is so skimpy on cheese that half the pizza is just sauce! The pepperoni, skimpy as well. The crust edges were burnt as well, like it was rushed on high heat, which is funny, as we were the ONLY pizza done, and not many tickets on the ovens.
What gives people? Do you really think in this economy, with all of the choices for pizza in the area, that you can just rest on your Reputation? This is NOT the same pizza Fernando worked so hard to create, and its just sad really, as it used to be the gold standard for the tri state area, but now it seems to be just another company with no...
Read moreOnly one star because negative numbers arent an option. The worst customer service! The pizza is good, not the best choice in town but its closer to my house than some of the other options. I called last week and they were out of menu items we wanted so we did not order. Today we went into the business to give it another attempt and they were again out of something. Today it was 8inch dough. We had one person in our group that could not eat pizza with red sauce. So we asked for options and the boy seemed clueless on how to help. Before we left to another restaurant we asked for a manager to see if there was anything they can do(like cut down a slightly larger dough ball) and he said theres nothing he could do. Just a heads up.....a dough ball cost cents, to cut off an ounce or two of dough to still give a customer a pie is pennies. It wasnt the point of them being out of dough, even though thats also an inconvinience, but the lack of effort to make it up to the customer when it was such a simple fix is isane to me. They wouldnt cut down a dough ball and loose pennies but lost over 30$ that day and each day we pass them up on the way to other pizza shops as long as...
Read moreHow this restaurant has more than zero stars is beyond me. This is one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to with one of the top 3 or 4 worst pizzas I ever had.
I made the mistake of ignoring two large red flags, one the staff was all on their phones and concerned mostly with talking amongst themselves. Two, I was the only customer under the age of 70 in there, I’ve never had good food at a restaurant that was all old people as customers.
The pizza came out suspiciously quickly, I’d ordered a medium 12 inch and not only was it not 12 inches it was tiny. The pizza was bland with no flavor of any kind, which is understandable why they have so many elderly customers. My stomach dropped about halfway through but since I’d already paid I forced myself to continue to eating. My stomach is in pain right now because of this terrible pizza.
It had no flavor, was crumbly and falling apart, and was hard to handle, that is not how a pizza ever should be. Will not be back, especially after wasting 20 dollars on such an...
