5 de mayo birria y barbacoa — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I wanted some authentic Mexican food today and had driven by this place a number of time so decided to try it. I normally get carnitas but that wasn't available. The owner recommended the Quesa Birria. He said I would like it.

I got the order to go and took it back to my work. There were three meat and cheese filled birrias with a cup of warm red broth and a small container of (possibly avocado) sauce with . I can say without a doubt this was one of the most flavorful and delicious meals I have had in a long time. The texture of the slightly thicker tortillas that were dunked in the red tinted broth, grilled to crispy perfection, and filled with meat and cheese were excellent. The complex flavors of the meat and especially the broth made me want more, even though the three were plenty to fill me up.

This restaurant is spotlessly clean, the owner is friendly and outgoing, and the food is top notch. This place is so good, it should be busy all the time. Do yourself a favor and order some food from Taco 5 de Mayo. You won't be disappointed.

I am seriously at a loss for words at the customer service lacking at this restaurant. Our office ordered $60 worth of food and when we got it back to our office we realized that our Gyro order was horribly burnt. So I simply drove back to the restaurant and politely asked them to replace the burnt gyro. The waiter said I would need to drive all the way back to the office- and get the burnt gyro to bring it back to show them... I had a picture of it and they STILL wouldn't make good . I played nice at first just asking them to be respectful and replace the meal. They refused and told me it was not their fault 😡 WHO DOES THAT? I would give them zero stars if I could. I am completely shocked at the customer service lacking at this restaurant! To top it off we have a $1200 budget a mo to use at reataurants and we were excited to find a restaurant like this to use at other offices... so not only did they get a bad review but they lost a lot...

Coworkers and I purchased food from this place to go. The service was horrible and they were rude. The orders were wrong. We then took the food back and asked for our money back because the order was wrong. We called and let them know what was going on and they stated "no refund!" We spent over $100 with them. We had to threaten to call the police in order to receive our money back. One of the employees threw paper at us and told us to get out because she was angry about returning the money. This place has horrible customer service. I wouldn't recommend this...
