Golden Chick — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I came through drive first but the nice lady taking my order couldn't hear me. All I can hear in the back ground while she was taking my order is a bunch of people laughing sounded like a party they were talking very loud it echoes so I couldn't hear the nice lady trying to take my order. I decided to go inside instead and the first thing is I waited almost 10 minutes before someone came and took my order. There were a bunch of people standing in the back in a circle laughing and talking loud which I assumed was the reason I couldn't hear my order in drive. I asked to talk to manager and saw her coming from the group of people laughing and talking loud in the back. She was not helpful at all. She acted like she didn't speak very good English. I told her they should be considerate to the drive through people taking orders because they were so loud and obnoxious I had to come in. I come here A lot and for the first time someone in drive was pleasant and nice but she couldn't hear me due to her manager being clicked up with looks like the cooks and other workers. One little Mexican girl playing her music on her phone in her pocket walking around being loud yelling stuff to the people in the back like what kind of place is this a place to party or order food. I did NOT WANT TO TALK TO THE MANAGER AFTER EXPLAINING TO HER MY EXPERIENCE BECAUSE SHE SEEMED CARELESS AND SHE WAS THE MAIN EMPLOYEE BEING LOUD WITH THE REST OF THE EMPLOYEES IN THE BACK. The only people that were doing their job and were very nice and professional were the two girls working in the drive through an old guy and a guy cleaning the dining area. 8/6/2024 We had a terrible experience with the food and staff. We once loved this location, today we notice an entirely new staff (under new ownership) secondarily upon intial glance at our food we knew something was off, the green beans were bland in color, no seasoning or chopped onion, the rice did not have form, looked liked mashed potatoes in texture but it was dirty rice, the fish was broken in half... Despite the off-putting look of the food we hesitantly tried it. Fish lacked flavor water came out biting into it, green beans completely bland, dirty rice taste spoil and texture was like mush. We did this all within 1 minute , immediately returned the food providing specific feedback of why we asked for a refund. Unfortunately we were met by staff that became defensive, who completely failed to simply apologize for the poor experience to add injury to insult we were then met by a manger who argumentatively tried to defend their food in an attempt to refuse a refund. The plate looked untouched bc we literally took a bite of 1 green bean, all 4 fish pieces w the exception of a tiny virtually unnoticeable bite same with the mashed rice. Finally after having to repeat myself 4 TIMES due the defensive manager, we were refunded. We personally feel racial prejudice was a factor especially considering where there was once a culturally diverse staff , the staff is now completely south asian/indian. We are educated African Americans btw. We drove to the location on 23rd street were even at a glance the food looked vastly different and exceeded our expectations in quality and taste. I wish I could give 0 stars , but I just wanted to bring awareness at this fast food location coming from someone that works here and would remain anonymous. When you enter , the place may look sanitized , clean and whatnot. But there are mouse traps by the kitchen area , the drive thru area , corner parts in the working area. The area where the fountain drinks are by the drive thru window. Manager Rebecca has informed us to keep quiet about there being mouse traps and a mouse on the loose and to be honest I don't get paid enough to keep quiet and just seeing people come by and order their daily or new people stopping by. Knowing I know there's a mouse on the loose in the working area , God knows if the mouse has been in the serving area where they serve people their food or even in the storage room where the packaged foods are , napkins , sauce packets etc. I personally saw the mouse traps and it disgusts me how they claim to be sanitized and keeping areas clean but you have a mouse on the loose and wanting to keep workers quiet for the business not to go down?! I think people should know what's going on here. The owner sam also needs to do something about it but he doesn't even have good communication with Rebecca. Also Instead of getting rid of the mouse problem you're doing renovations?? I don't recommend coming to this place. Also very rude managers towards workers , I don't even recommend working at this place especially because it is full of discrimination. Unless you're Arab then you're privileged working there.
