Sunny Side Diner – May Ave, OKC Rating: 5/5 ☀️🍳☕️
Rise and shine, friends! 🌞 If you’re craving a breakfast that hits just right and want to start your day with a side of sunshine, Sunny Side Diner on May is THE SPOT!
First off, let’s talk about these eggs… WOW. 🍳 Perfection. Cooked exactly how I love them — with that dreamy, golden yolk just waiting to spill over the plate like liquid gold. Chef’s kiss! 👨🍳💋
Then there’s the bacon, crispy like it came straight from the heavens 🥓⛅️ and the toast? Perfectly golden and ready to scoop up every last bite. Add in a cozy side of cottage cheese and a fresh, piping hot cup of coffee in their signature sunny mug ☕️, and you’ve got yourself the ultimate breakfast vibe.
But what REALLY made my visit? The waitress. She was absolutely fantastic — funny, personable, and had a smile that could light up the whole diner! 😄💡 The kind of service that makes you feel like you’re having breakfast at a friend’s house, but with way better food and zero cleanup.
Between the bright, retro booths, the laid-back atmosphere, and the consistently delicious food, Sunny Side Diner delivers a top-tier brunch experience every single time.
10/10 would recommend for: ✔️ Lazy weekend mornings ✔️ Fueling up before a busy day ✔️ Catching up with friends over coffee and laughs ✔️ Taking epic foodie pics (because LOOK at that plate!) 📸
Trust me, your day just hits different when you start it at Sunny Side.
Come for the eggs, stay for the vibes. ☀️🥓🍳

Read moreWalking in we see a line, not a big deal, we give our name to the hostess we're told it's a 15 minute wait, not bad at all. 15 minutes go by no one has been seated at any of the many open tables, people that got there before us are walking out. 25 minutes go by they offer us dry biscuit samples like having a mouth full of crumbs is going to make waiting better. 40 minutes go by we're about to leave talking about other lunch options, because at this point it's lunch not brunch, they call our name. We get seated, we're hesitant and we're told for the first time that the kitchen is running behind and we can expect at least a 25 minute wait for food, fine, the menu was interesting so we decide to wait and we already had time to pick our orders so we order right then. Waiting waiting waiting at 45 minutes they come out and tell us that they don't have biscuits, and it's gonna be another 15 minute wait if we want what we ordered instead of substituting for an English muffin, if the kitchen is running behind because your out of biscuits why were you giving people dry biscuits for waiting? We take the substitution. The food finally comes out they forget a side order that takes another few minutes to come out. The eggs are overcooked. The food is fine. We finish eating have to wait another 15 minutes to get our check and then charged a fee for not paying with cash. Also the whole time the manager(?) is running around looking stressed out of his mind which is not exactly a relaxing breakfast atmosphere. I understand that this is a newly opened restaurant but it's not the first location, and the least you could do is not lie to my face about wait times. Terrible experience, terrible service, hidden fees,...
Read moreMy first experience at Sunnyside was exceptional, great food and the staff at the time was very attentive and even the manager ensured that each guest was enjoying their meal. But upon my second time attempting to dine, was a complete 180 from the first.
I came in shortly after 9 on a Friday morning which I didn't expect to be packed but it was so we waited for table. Once seated at 9:15, we got a cup of coffee and juice for our toddler. Only to wait another 10 minutes to simply see our server again in order to ask for a spoon to make the now cold coffee and take our order. She took another 5 mins to bring the spoon then started writing down our order. By this time I had requested a new cup of coffee which I was told would be coming back out shortly and still NEVER received it. I waited patiently as I watched bigger groups than mine be seated well after us, served and ate and paid well after we got there and we simply only had 1 cup of coffee for the entire 45-1 hr of being there just sitting. My toddler at this point is anxious and agitated because she is hungry and we came to eat almost an hour ago. I don't know what happened this second time around but we felt extremely unimportant and disregarded as patrons in this establishment. I had thought so highly of this place my first time and then to experience that was completely distasteful and i left disappointed and...
