Old School Bagel Cafe — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

We order from this location often via mobile order and don't usually have an issue. With that being said, you'd think you'd have the same experience when going into the location and ordering face to face. We ordered an onion bagel toasted with onion and chive cream cheese, a mile high club with bacon on a toasted everything bagel with warm meat, another onion bagel untoasted with onion and chive cream cheese and a large fountain drink). The order was confirmed twice, paid for ($18.54 for 3 bagels and a drink) was sent off to their cook station. While waiting we witness an employee put on a glove, mess with the boxes delivered by ups with that gloved hand and then proceeds to go back to preparing food with that same gloved hand ( those boxes are filthy), other employees handling and preparing dine in baskets with unwashed and ungloved hands, an employee load a hamper full of towels and wash cloths I'd assume from the store into their personal vehicle to take with them to be washed (if you work in the food industry you'd know thats unsanitary and why food businesses have disposable towels or a professional cleaning service provide sanitary towels for food preparation and use) and to top it all off our order was wrong. Neither bagels requested to be toasted were, meat on the mile high club was ice cold and the bacon added was the consistency of a rubber band. I went to the cafe today with 2 separate orders during lunch. The orders were simple single sandwich orders. After placing the order and waiting 10 minutes, I asked about my order. The female at the cash register totally ignored me. So I stopped one of the males. One sandwich was ready. I was told they were making the other. 5 minutes later, I asked again. Again, I was told they were making it. The staff obviously did not want to be bothered.

Finally I got the second order. When I got back to work and sat down to eat, the Cuban I ordered was not a Cuban at all. It was a roast beef. The bagel was stuck to the paper and the spicy mustard was all over the outside of the bagel. I tried calling the café several times and received a recording. Finally when I called someone picked up the phone and laid it on the counter. I could hear the female at the register talking with the customers. I held on for 8 minutes trying to get someone's attention. Finally I hung up.

I continued to call back over the next 35 minutes and continued to get a recording.

The staff was less than friendly, the order I received was not only wrong but was also sloppy and taking the phone off the hook is something the manager/owner should know about. This particular location (May Ave) is pretty subpar to be honest. The establishment is clean and they were fully stocked on all the bagel choices. I came at like 10 on a weekday morning, and it was not busy at all-- I was the only person in the restaurant and there were only about 6 people dining outside. The staff was not friendly at all. Not only was I not greeted when I walked in, but I was standing at the counter with 4-5 staff members behind the counter... Not doing much.... And they didn't acknowledge me at all. They didn't say hi, didn't ask what I'd like to order, or even tell me that they'd be with me in a second. They looked right at me, so I know they saw me. They all had longer hair, and only one had her hair fully pulled back, which I believe is a requirement for food service. The bagel was good and tasted fresh. I ordered two bagels with cream cheese. One had a LOT of cream cheese and the other had a tiny measley amount, so not uniform at all. I like a lot of cream cheese, and I didn't think to ask for extra or anything because the other locations use a larger scoop so each bagel has more or less the same amount. Both were roasted, but one was like, EXTRA toasted with super crispy edges, and one was only lightly toasted. Just overall pretty unimpressed with this location. Probably won't come back to this one...
