I've been in the service industry for 18 years a bartender to be exact so I'm very familiar with the job. Last night after work a couple girls and I went here to have a couple drinks. As soon as we walked in I could tell that the bartender was in a bad mood(we all have those days) She asked for our IDs, i realized i left mine in the car. She seemed annoyed. One of my friends gave her id to the bartender and she wouldn't accept it because she said it looked fake and the color wasn't right to "her" then she requested another form of identity. She gave her another form and she took it to the back door awhile then came back and said" I guess it will work." I came back in showed my ID and then proceeded to order a round of shots. One of my friends had gave the bartender her debt card to start a tab. We ordered another round and I told her I would be paying for everything but with cash. Once again she acted very annoyed. When she gave me the receipt I pulled out my money and was a little short so I told her I had to go to the car again to grab my wallet. That's when it got really bad. She started screaming in front of everyone at the bar and accusing me of trying to run out on the tab. She yelled for security and told him I was trying to run and that he needed to escort me to the car so she can get paid. She made us leave our belongings at the bar, I assume for collateral. And again she still had my friends card on file. I have NEVER in my life ran a tab nor been this embarrassed in my entire life. Im also very much aware some people do run tabs but with a card on file there shouldn't of been any of this happening. While being escorted outside the security guard was very apologetic and told me "that's just how she is." I came back in and gave her the money for the tab nothing more. Because the time that I've spent in the service industry, I consider myself a very generous tipper. But after her embarrassing my friends and I in front of the entire club i refused to tip her. She then proceeded to call me all types of belittling names to the patriots sitting at the bar. I will NEVER come back to this location...
Read moreWas here for a date, a year ago. first time at the bar, with a regular here. Let's call her Pel, obviously her name isn't Pel. I'm very glad she got kicked out of law school due to her rampant alcoholism and drug use i unfortunately witnessed at this bar at the time. Her and another woman harassed me because hey! i'm a man and it's not like i'm allowed to bite back when they're in my bubble and yanking and jerking my hair on the back of my head.
from the office on violence against women (OVW) department of justice, it lists Physical Abuse as "Hitting, slapping, shoving, grabbing, pinching, biting, hair pulling, etc. are types of physical abuse." so yeah, "Pel" , and some random 2nd woman, by definition. Physically abused me at the time. slowly coming to terms how disgustingly double standard this moment was.
atmosphere was decent, just some place with low lighting so its hard to tell where its clean like any other i suppose.
the appetizers food tray 'Pel' ordered was... ok. until you remember they smoke indoors so everything is ruined.
staff was nice and accommodating. had a chat with the bouncer, and 'Pel's favorite server (watch out girl! Pel wants to 'jump' you! like how she tried 'jumping' her former law school classmates!) Obviously the word jump isn't what i mean here. But its a public review and i'm putting myself out there by writing this here.
almost saw a fight break out, and a W man told a B man 'hey get your brother away' and the B man said 'he's not with me!' and the W man said 'oh, i'm sorry!' So a nice people watching experience, amidst the low hanging haze of smoke and peculiar people.
bathroom urinal had vomit in it, because its a bar.
had to pay for Pel's tab because i'm stupid, she racked up a lot of alcohol, the appetizer tray made sense for the two of us, and i had nasty smoke water.
Singo bingo that night was fun, a lot of 80s 90s music...
Read moreI will state for the record, that I am very fond of this establishment. I have visited it several times. To give me a reason for a review of this nature is saying a lot. I felt a different sense of treatment in which I thought was unusual from one of the bartenders. (Unless I look like someone else that wronged their business, I don’t know where this came from.) As I take a seat at the table, I was asked if I was either starting a tab or paying cash for my order. I ordered a meal only in a sit and wait establishment. I wasn’t sure of how much I was gonna have for the evening, but I have always paid after I was done eating my food and I requested the ticket. I wasn’t at the Bar and I had ordered no alcoholic beverages. Being asked for my card before I even got my food was strange and never happened before. It made me feel a bit pressured in a sense, because here I am, sitting across from a group of people and I observe the bartender grabbing her payment after she was done and ready to close out her ticket……..I won’t give 1 star because I’m usually treated with respect from the bartenders and they are all great. I addressed an issue with a charge that differed from the menu that was given. The bartender took note, but didn’t offer to correct it. I just paid the difference anyway and made them aware for other guest that come and see what I saw. They may not be as kind. It would be wrong if I didn’t...
