Don't get me wrong this place has been in the past a descent place to hang out. There is a good mix of age ranges and ethnicities which I appreciate. But it is a bit smoky for my taste and sometimes service is thin and therefore a bit slow. But I can live with all that. The reason for my average review was my most recent experience. I brought a friend and we sat for a couple hours before tabbing out. I got the tab and noticed the tax seemed a little higher than expected. And then something called a rounding fee below that. I asked about these things and was told that since Oklahoma changed the liquor laws the effective tax rate on alcohol changed as well. And that the rounding fee "usually" works in the customer's favor. I'm sorry but I have to call BS on this. I could be wrong I'm no tax lawyer but when I go to the liquor store I pay 9 percent. On this tab however my friend and I were taxed 22 percent! Yup I did the math. Now maybe this is legit and if it is I will accept it but it's hard to believe this place could charge so much more tax than anywhere else I have been. But then there is this rounding fee that "usually works in the customer's favor". Okay that's not an answer. Or not a good one. It was a very small amount but when I inquired further I was next told this fee is put there because pennies don't exist in bars. Okay so which is it? Is it a fee that usually works out for the customer or is it there because in this place apparently pennies are figments of the imagination? You can feel my irritation at this point but I kept my cool, I didn't go all Popeyes Chicken sandwich on anyone but I just felt this was worth calling out. If for no other reason, hopefully it will wake this place up to the fact their customers aren't stupid. We shouldn't have to pay extra for existentially challenged pennies. Maybe this isn't illegal but it should be, and at the very least it's super shady. Round down if you're going to round...pennies are...
Read moreWent here because it was Groupon. Order rare rib eye and wings. Salad with steak was huge and lots of tots. The steak was perfectly rare. Unfortunately it didn’t have much seasoning. It came with a nice au jus. The wings were good. However I only got 8 instead of 12. They said for me to come back and get 4 more. With expensive gas, that’s not a good idea. Maybe offer, me next time:.:. come in order a 12 piece and get me another 12 piece. Not sure why I got 8, when the menú clearly states 12. I don’t think 8 wings is a choice. I think that would be good customer service and would entice me to give it another shot.
I hate checking my food order. I just want to get home.
As far as what people say, it is Smokey and cold inside. It smells like a bar. I would go there and drink but eating there might be suspect.
Would be a one star, but the wings were...
Read moreLet me start with the fact that I don't drink or smoke neither does my father whom I visited Lumpy's sports bar with. Nevertheless as my father and I drive out to California we like to visit places that are local and have good food. Lumpy's definitely held up to all of our standards. My father and I love to eat and we usually try to avoid places where smoking is allowed, but Lumpy's must have a very good ventilation system because we could hardly smell the smoke in there. They also held up on both food and service standards. Our waitress Michelle was very sweet and welcoming. She checked in on us several times and was very personable every time. She also recommended a great burger the California jalapeno burger. It was overall a very clean and comfortable bar with great food and service. Will definitely stop by the next...
