The atmosphere and the weather may have had something to do with my high rating, but it didn't have anything to do with the delicious food that we were served! It was cold, rainy and a later dinner than usual due to unforeseen circumstances. I wanted soup. So we drove by the Panang Thai restaurant and I knew that I love Thai soup. So my husband and I stopped. We each chose a bowl of our favorite soup and we shared a main entree. I was so happy, granted I was hungry, and that always makes a difference. But the soup I had was the Tom Yum with coconut milk and I was so so happy. It was warm and delicious and filling. I did not eat all of it because I wanted to share the pad thai with my husband. I've had Pad Thai lots of times, it's not always my favorite Thai food, but my husband and I were sharing a dish and we had to choose something that we both liked. Again, I was smiling as I ate. The spice level can be chosen, and my husband likes food spicier than I do. So we settled for one of the milder numbers and he added hot spice to his taste. When we left we both agreed that this was a good choice for stopping for a late dinner. By late I don't mean 11 or anything like that, but as we usually eat around 6 eating at 8:30 to 9 was a little late for us. The wait staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and attentive. I was afraid that servers would be a little irritated that we came into the restaurant when they were thinking of closing for the night, but that was far from what happened. Everyone acted happy that we were there and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I hope that our next Asian meal will be here. I highly...
Read moreWe used to love their fried rice from here, but for the last few months, their portions of rice per order have decreased substantially. On the take-outbox, it used to be packed all the way up. Now, only 3 quarters of the box stays full. We compared to other panangs in Edmond, Ok, it seems only this location's fried rice is substantially lower when you compare side by side. Will make sure to post pictures of the comparison next time. Update: 08/18/2022. 3 to 1 star. Very disorganized, and not sure why we even went back. I guess we wanted to give them another chance after 2 years. We went for dinner today with our friends. The food did not taste so good and was late. When I say late, this is what I mean, one of my friend's orders took more than an hour to prepare, and he asked us to start because they were taking so long to bring his food, and he felt terrible that we all were waiting for his food to arrive. So we started hoping his food would come any moment. He nibbled some food from our plates as we had enough to share. We all got done eating, and his food arrived when we were ready for dessert. He was so sad that he did not get to enjoy his favorite dish with us. We ended up not ordering dessert and leaving with bitter feelings. He ended up putting his dinner into a to-go box. I spent $188 for a dinner of 6 people tonight. I should have never given them a chance to disappoint me...
Read moreThis location refused to cook the shrimp separately due to a food allergy. They argued for 30 minutes just to tell me to order another dish. After speaking to the owner- he said he has never and would never honor any food allergies. I have gone to this location for years and they have always honored my requests, but the refused to honor a FOOD ALLERGY. The location was extremely dead on a Friday night probably due to HORRIBLE attitudes and poor service. They had PLENTY of time to make the meal like it was irdered. This has by far been the WORST experience I have ever encountered at a restaurant or have ever been treated at a place of business. As sad as I am to report this with this review, Ii thought other people who have food allergies should know that even as a special request they WILL NOT HONOR any special requests/food allergies just because and I quote, "He doesn't have to". What? I will never take my business back to a place that doesn't want to please their guests and treat people in such a disrespectful and ugly way. The fact that they are willing to possibly risk someone's life because they were to lazy to cook something on the side is the scariest and saddest thing I couldn't imagine in my worst nightmares. Death by Thai food is not a way anyway should have to worry about going out. Hello health department! I know where I'll be...
