I've now had a chance to visit this new location and also use it's online ordering system through their app.
The night we visited the restaurant to dine in they were very busy, but we didn't wait long in line as other's ordered. We were a little worried about finding an open seat, but a man who I assume was the owner was asking all the groups in line to order how many there group consisted on and directed the staff to make sure tables for that amount were cleared so we had a clean seat waiting for us as soon as we ordered.
The Hot & Sour soup we ordered as an appetizer was brought out very quickly, and was amazing! We were able to enjoy our soup until our entree's arrived which was also very quick. I ordered the sesame chicken with white rice and it was wonderful. All of the food was hot, and seasoned really well. I want to try several of their different flavors but I tend to be one of those "don't mess with perfection" types... but maybe I'll make an exception one day.
Finally I'd like to talk about my online ordering experience. I downloaded their app and set up an account to start collecting rewards, and today I used it to order a to go meal from this location. The categories initially shown to direct you to the type of food you wanted to order was a bit confusing at first, it took me a while to find the soup, but that was the only problem I ran into. The different entree's offered a ton of customization options with your meal allowing you to build your perfect dish, and it clearly marked price differences with premium sides or extras you may want. I had no idea I could ask for extra sauce for no extra cost for example. It then gives you the option of what exact time you want to pick up your order, I ordered around 12:09 and the earliest I could pick it up was 12:30, not bad at all. Or if you know you want to pick it up later in the day say around your lunch break you can order and set your pick up time to an exact time later in the day, which I thought was great!
When I arrived at the location, there were many 10 minute parking locations right in front of the door specifically for Pei Wei pick up customers (which was awesome cause it was raining). I was able to run in to the register specifically for pick up orders, and my order was right there waiting for me. They had a small section right next to the register to grab whatever goodies you might want to take as well (fortune cookies, plastic utensils, soy sauce, chopsticks, ect). Total time I was out of my car couldn't have been more than 3 minutes since I had chosen to pay online.
I've been extremely pleased with both of my experiences at this location, both the food and staff have been wonderful and I look forward to visiting again...
Read moreFirst time my husband and I went to Pei Wei Chinese restaurant. It was clean, well stocked for napkins, straws, etc. Cashier was nice, but her English was foreign and on the awkward side. We wondered if she really understood all that we said. But overall, very pleasant. We ordered food to go and then we got Kung Poa Chicken for my husband and General Tso's chicken for me. to eat in the restaurant. It looked and smelled great. It's my favorite, so couldn't wait to dig in. I took a big bite, so good; But then WOW! The hot spicy hit and it took my breath away. I was looking for water. It was so extremely HOT that I struggle even now to figure out what in the world did they do to it. It's like they purposely want to kill the customers. Never have I had food that was so intense. I just could not eat any of it. I ended up bringing it home and added stuff to calm down the heat. It didn't calm anything down. I had to throw it out. My husband liked his, but still he didn't eat it either. He said it should not have been "That" hot. He brought his home too. However the other part of our experience with Pei Wei was when we were leaving, I had a problem but did not want to say anything to cause anyone any distress. I really do not like attention drawn to me. I am handicapped and I do not walk. I have a motorized scooter, and a service dog, so sometimes, things are a bit cumbersome for me with my dog going in and out a door . Heavy doors are sometimes difficult. Anyway, when we left, my husband went out the patio door and I followed. I caught the door as I was going through it, I did not move quite fast enough and the door shut really quick and caught my arm, putting a two inch gash across my forearm, and it began to bleed everywhere. I knew it hurt, but for the moment, I never really looked at it until we got in the car. When my husband saw blood dripping from my arm, he gasped. He said I needed to have stitches, and I needed to tell Pei Wei, but I just grabbed a kleenex, and told him never mind, let's just go home. Yes, I probably did need stitches, but I cleaned it up good, and put some antiseptic on it and bandaged it. It has healed okay, but I told my daughters, I now have a souvenir scar from Pei Wei; Just a reminder that it is not the place for me. Love Chinese food for sure, my all time favorite, but absolutely not from Pei Wei. Food is so EXTREMELY HOT, that you cannot enjoy it, at all. There are other Chinese places that are better. We will never go back...
Read moreThe very worst experience at a Pei Wei. This place was absolutely disgusting, the bathrooms were filthy and I’m not being dramatic. I came in at a little past 11am ordered honey seared chicken and two egg rolls totaled $15.07 and they couldn’t make change for a twenty (happens sometime, I get it) the guy gives me 95 cents in nickels and says someone will have to bring me the $4. No big deal, so I make my way over to the fountain drinks to get water and a fork. All the silverware is dirty and I’m not jut talking water spots, again no big deal I’ll just use chopsticks. I set my things on a table and go to the restroom where I find the most disgusting urinal, toilet, and sink that I’ve seen in quite some time, again I let it slide and go to my table. After waiting for awhile the manager brings out my plate and walks away, I notice the plate is dirty with finger prints and other “food”, again I let it slide until I lift the plate and look at the under side. Completely filthy with dried food and finger print smudges of food, I think maybe it’s just to cooks handling the plates, let it slide again. Manager brings out the other plate that was order for our table and asks if there was anything else he could do, I say yes I haven’t received my egg rolls or my correct change, this is were I’ve had enough and tell him that the bathrooms are filthy, the silverware is dirty, the plates have food stuck to them and I’m noticed satisfied at all and I’m downright disgusted. He says he’ll bring the egg rolls and change back as soon as he can. I tried to be polite and eat the food and be patient waiting for the egg rolls and correct change, I wait, and wait, and wait while trying to eat the plate of of food I do have when I start noticing the noodles are clumpy and stuck together in these giant uncooked/ over cooked balls of noodles mess. I couldn’t take it anymore, stood up and demanded my money back, the manager did as I requested and we left. Hopefully the owner will read this and check on his/her establishment because it desperately...
