I ordered and had paid for a cake for a shower to be picked up yesterday at 1PM. When I arrived at 1:10PM and stated my name the employees looked at me blankly. They told me it would be ready in 15-20 minutes and to sit and wait. I had come from a luncheon and had someone else with me. Not only did I need to be back to work, I needed to get the other person back for a meeting at 1:30 in MidTown. I asked if they could guarantee it would be ready at 2 and left. When I returned at 2 a different person was at the counter and another customer was in front of me in line. I waited for what seemed like an eternity (I know it wasn't) while they placed their order. When the person asked if she could help me, I told her I certainly hoped so. I explained I had been there to pick up a cake at 1, that I was coming back again and I hoped it was ready this time. She said, " They had it ready within minutes of your being here." I said, " If that was the case, they had my phone number why didn't they call to let me know?" She then said, " I don't like your tone." I was surprised at her reaction, said I wasn't happy and asked for the cake. She handed me the cake and then told me to "Get out." She told me that the cake was always supposed to be ready at 2PM and then she repeated, "Get out."
I left but knew she was wrong. I had been at a Women's Leadership Luncheon and was pretty positive I had timed my pick-up to coincide with when that lunch would be over. I checked my phone, found the two confirmations and original order all of which showed a 1PM pick up.
I walked back in showed her the confirmations on the phone thinking surely she would acknowledge the mistake. Instead she shouted at me, "Get out and never come back."
Not to worry. I won't be back. When I told the guests at the shower that afternoon about what had happened, another guest said her sister had had a similar incident a few months ago. But in her case, she never even got the cake she had paid for!
Additionally as I began to write this, I saw a similar story from Rachel Crow who said her mom had also been yelled at.
Three different people had this...
Read moreIncredibly disappointed. I called nearly 4 weeks prior to Valentineâs Day, asking to place an order for a dozen chocolate covered strawberries. The person I spoke with took down my name and pick up time and said they would be expecting me on the 14th. Upon arriving and requesting my order, I was told that they had had âa large number of people come in for pickups and were essentially out of chocolate covered strawberriesâ. They cashier told me all they had was 3 small boxes with, what I assumed to be 4 chocolate covered strawberries in each. Not wanting to be rude, I purchased just two. I just recently realized there were only two strawberries in each of these, along with two cake balls. The cashier didnât feel the need to expand on what were in these boxes, I suppose, so we can just add that to the list of disappointments.
Now you might be saying to yourself, Gram, at least you didnât have to pay for a full dozen strawberries, at least you spent less. Well youâd be wrong. $33.00 for these 4 strawberries and 4 cake balls. I can only assume at least $1.00 of that cost went towards the paper confetti that sticks to these chocolate covered sweets. Iâm so glad that I called in so long ago to reserve my strawberries, which if I recall correctly were advertised with a Valentines deal. Something like $25 for a dozen.
All in all, great strawberries (4 of them), great cakes, horrendous customer service for not prioritizing customers who actually plan ahead and Iâll be using some over priced delivery service next year for strawberries because at least they can guarantee I will be getting...
Read moreThis place has horrible horrendous rude employees including the awful woman who owns the place. My mother who is salt of the earth with a huge heart and a gentle sweet soul placed an order for a cake and when she arrived to pick it up on the day and time she scheduled, she was met with attitude and even being verbally assaulted and yelled at by the staff and the owner in front of the other customers. She said she was so stunned by this interaction that she couldnât even respond to them. Then the women working there started laughing at her. My mother being the kind woman she is still paid for her cake and left quietly. Then she arrived at my house in tears with the cake, she finally opened the box and it wasnât even what she ordered. When I called to speak with the owner she started yelling at me on the phone. Condescending malicious and very unstable behavior. I hope for the sake of their business that these women do some inner work and find real peace and happiness because theyâre clearly not happy with themselves or their lives if they are so quick to attack people who patronage their little shack. If making cake makes you angry then youâre in the wrong business. Iâm honestly surprised they even get business still after seeing so many other reviews with similar experiences. Guess itâs only a...
