A Delicious Renaissance at Sauced: A Review of the Newly Renovated Pizza Haven in the Paseo District
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sauced, a renowned pizza place in the heart of the Paseo District. Although I initially missed the opportunity to dine there during its closure, I was thrilled to discover that Sauced had reopened its doors with a fresh new look while still preserving the cozy ambiance that made it so special.
Walking into Sauced, I immediately noticed the tasteful renovations that had taken place. The atmosphere exuded a perfect blend of modernity and nostalgia, with charming touches reminiscent of the old establishment. The subtle lighting, comfortable seating, and well-thought-out decor created a warm and inviting space that made me feel right at home.
Now, let's dive into the reason we all flock to pizza places: the food. Sauced left me positively sauced with its delectable offerings. We started our culinary journey with the Italian nachos, and oh my, what a treat! A creative twist on a classic, the nachos were a delightful combination of crispy chips, zesty marinara sauce, gooey cheese, and an array of flavorful toppings. The harmonious blend of Italian flavors in this appetizer was a mouthwatering revelation.
Next up on our gastronomic adventure were the pizza rolls, and they were nothing short of amazing. These little parcels of goodness were generously filled with a symphony of ingredients and perfectly baked to achieve a crispy golden crust. Each bite was a burst of heavenly flavors, and the accompanying dipping sauce only heightened the overall experience.
But the true stars of the show were, without a doubt, the pizza slices. Sauced has truly mastered the art of pizza making. Every slice we tried was a slice of heaven. The crust was thin, yet sturdy enough to hold the generous toppings. The sauce was rich, tangy, and perfectly seasoned, complementing the fresh ingredients with finesse. Whether we opted for a classic margherita or ventured into more adventurous combinations, each slice left us craving for more.
The service at Sauced was exceptional as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they served. Their recommendations and attention to detail elevated our dining experience, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was nothing short of outstanding.
Sauced is a pizza lover's paradise that has managed to reinvent itself while preserving the soul of the old establishment. The newly renovated space offers a cozy atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. From the mouthwatering Italian nachos and delectable pizza rolls to the unforgettable slices of pizza, every dish at Sauced is a testament to their commitment to quality and flavor.

Read moreResponse to owners comment: I actually gavee Olive Garden 4 stars because their food actually and consistently tastes good and their employees offer kind and timely service. But I digress...back to the review of Sauced on Paseo. I understand a one star rating hurts but it is an honest rating based on my opinion. So, fix your food, keep your inventory stocked so you're not out of things, and overhall the attitude of employees and maybe yourself so that you can use this as a learning opportunity about how to improve. Or not. And for anyone else reading this saga...if you're going down to Paseo just go to Goro Ramen. You won't regret your decision like I did.
I was excited to try their vegan pizza but so very, very disappointed in not only the food but the attitude of the employees here. Let's start with the food because I'll put up with a little s&*tty service from employees if the food is phenomenal but it wasn't. As a matter of fact, I had their vegan chicken parmesan pizza and I would classify it as gross. I made the mistake of order a whole pizza which is humongous. I ended up throwing it all away. The flavor was bad, it seemed undercooked, and it was just all around gross. Nothing about it reminded me of chicken parmesan in any way. It was just a white pizza that happened to be vegan, flavorless, and gross to me. My companion thought their slice was okay.
Now onto the employees. This is an order at the counter and seat yourself kind of place. The lady at the register was anything but amiable. She seemed to be complacent and in a hurry to just get our order and be done with us. It's hard to explain but she was anything but welcoming. She was borderline rude. After we sat down and a member in my group who had ordered a salad didn't have salad dressing. So, he asked a different employee there passing by for it. The employee told him it shoud be "in there." Mind you the salad is in a wooden bowl that is borderline overflowing. So, he says I don't see it and the employee says the dressing is usually on the bottom. Now, I've eaten at a lot of places in my life and not one of them placed the salad dressing on the bottom of the bowl and then topped it with salad. Hmmm? So after he pokes around a bit, flicking lettuce everywhere, he says it's not in here. And the employee is like well that's weird, I'll get you some. No...what's weird is having to play hide and seek for your dinner.
Parking was easily accessible since we went on a weeknight. This is located in the paseo district.
I always try to be as honest as possible and I love to try any place that offers vegan items. However, when the food is bad it is bad and there's no sugar coating it. I appreciate they offer vegan options but I am disappointed greatly in the taste. The OKC has a few really good vegan pizza options but this is unfortunately, not one of...
Read moreAs much as I want the "new" sauced to be as good as the old it simply is not. The pizza is not bad if you order it for Dine In but it's pretty mediocre or worse when getting to go. From a pizza quality standpoint if you want NY style pizza go to Dado's which is incredible. But what is most obviously struggling at the new Sauced is the service and operations. We have been 6-7 times since it opened and have literally had a forgotten item such as a drink from the bar, an appetizer, or even an entire pizza every time we have been there. At least twice they have been out of gluten free crusts. The service is generally pretty slow considering the simplicity of the menu although the staff is generally friendly. Tonight was my personal breaking point however when I attempted to order online and was notified they were out of not one but two common ingredients. The first time was by the app and the second by a phone call which was at least very prompt and friendly. How we when I told them I would just let go of the missing topping they didn't offer to refund that money but instead offered to give a dessert item in exchange. Not wanting to rock the boat I agreed. Then when I arrived to pick up the order (35 min after ordering) they first searched for my order and found 2 parts of it but then realized that the GF pizza had not been made or had been made non-GF. So they asked me to wait another 15 minutes which was actually 20 but I did. Finally they brought out my order and again had forgotten part of it (the garlic knots). I got home and opened my first pizza box to find the pizza pictured in the attachment. This was a half pepperoni and half pepperoni +sausage+Balsamic glaze+extra cheese. I don't see any extra cheese, no balsamic, and of course it's cold from sitting out on a shelf for 20 minutes waiting on the GF. I would say if you want to try sauces do yourself a favor and don't. Order Empire Slice or...
