I'm about a month late with writing this review, but I must say this place is amazing! From the food to the service to the ambiance, I really enjoyed my experience. Lauren was our server and she was fabulous! She was friendly and efficient and really made my date and I feel welcome through her awesome personality. She didn't just write down orders and deliver our food and drinks, she was interactive and talkative and even gave us some advice on other great places to go as I had just moved to the city the day before. In other words, she did not just go through the motions and make us feel like she didn't want to be at work as some servers tend to do (generally speaking).
She gave us an overview of the menu since it was our first time in and explained the specials and answered any questions we had. My boyfriend got one of the specials with shrimp, scallops, sauteed greens and risotto. It was some of the most amazing food I've ever tasted. For an appetizer we shared the fruit and cheese platter - very delicious! For my dinner I got the hummus platter off the appetizer menu and loved it as well!
Here's where things got comical on our date night...my boyfriend was pulling the shrimp from the tail with his fork and it somehow shot off the plate onto his white shirt and then on the floor (which was devastating because the shrimp was bomb). We were laughing about it when Lauren came back to check up on us, and without us even asking or hinting anything, she came back shortly with another sauteed shrimp even though it was our fault. Props to customer service there! Later on, I was boxing up my hummus and flatbread, and when I grabbed the bowl, it somehow slipped right out of my hands and bounced onto the floor and shattered and made a huge mess. Another server happened to be walking by and immediately grabbed a broom and started cleaning it up while I apologized profusely. Then the manager on duty, Johnny, also came up to help. He insisted that it was no big deal and that he bring me more hummus to take home with me, which was such a nice gesture as well.
Overall, I was so extremely impressed by the customer service there. As someone who has worked in restaurants for years, I can observe that with all the teamwork that occurred that night, from Lauren to other servers who ran our food to us to the server who helped clean up my mess to the manager, this must be an amazingly-run establishment with guest experience as a top priority. I believe Lauren told us it was locally owned, so that makes a lot of sense. And the food was unforgettable. I don't know which was better, the food or the service. Can't wait to...
Read moreHad a wonderful time here after years being in WI. I talked to two really awesome ladies days prior to arriving and explained we didn’t have an exact time as we were taking a private plane from WI to Wiley Post and it was our first trip to OKC this way. Both were exceptional and accommodating. I changed the reservation time and added 3 people the day of. The service was not great. I have had other servers and actually saw 1 I recognized from years prior that was always amazing, accommodating and if he was annoyed by kids he would have never shown it, 🤣. Our server this night was very short with us, didn’t laugh and barely smiled while he was sniffling. We had three kiddos with us all under 10 and the server was obviously kinda annoyed by that and by the fact we were later in the evening. His nose was very runny and he kept sniffling at the table which was kinda gross. We were not told the side options for kids meals so they came with fries. I am sure that was on the menu but we had three kids who hadn’t been reunited in 2 years and were in a rush to order and tired from just traveling 5.5 hrs. The food was exceptional as ALWAYS! I have been craving that salmon for 2 years and it was out of this world, cooked to absolute perfection, as expected. As we were finishing up the kids were getting restless and plates were cleared. About 5-10 min of sitting and finally I sent one adult with the kiddos outside. Then the parfaits came. Really disappointing as these should have been given right away to the kids to hold them over. They were cleared before I had a chance to ask them to get boxed for the kids outside. I don’t know if that is even an option but they were immediately cleared. Other than the awkward rushing us annoyed server sniffling with an obvious runny nose dripping down his face🤢 everything else was amazing. All in all if you have 3 littles this is not the best place to take them especially after 8pm. But it was a special occasion and the only way for me to get the salmon and spend very limited time with my dear friend and her boys. We will be back and I never leave less than 5 stars, as the restaurant is not at fault for a one time...
Read moreIt is never a wrong decision to pick Paseo Grill as your preferred dinner or lunch spot. The restaurant almost always satisfies you with its great selection of dishes that are prepared to your highest expectations. Let's start by saying though, if you came to this restaurant in order to be blown away by fantastically innovative creations or an experimental flavor, this is not a place for your adventurous side to emerge. A glance on the menu will reveal dishes like shrimp cocktail, fried green beans, salads, and many simple grilled steak or fish dishes served with some common sides. Everything on the menu points to the restaurant playing it safe. If there was any item on the menu that was slightly creative, it would be the lobster and crab cake, which for the price you only received one fist sized cake nicely plated but gone way too quickly. However, this safety is not a negative for the establishment; in fact, this allows the kitchen to send out some of the most well prepared meals I have experienced from restaurants. My order of Maple Leaf Farms duck breast was done in a raspberry bourbon sauce cooked medium rare, a typical preparation bar the bourbon replaced with wine or removed entirely. The taste of the dish however could not be downplayed, as each bite melts in your mouth in pure rhapsody complemented by the sweet sauce it sits on. A taste of their surf and turf dish sings the same swan song, as it is cooked to a perfect medium rare with a tender scallop on top that matches the steak's dance beat for beat. While Paseo Grill plays its menu very safe, expect to be surprised by the quality and flavors of any dish that is brought to the table. The masters can take the familiar and add new light to what you've already come to expect.
