Having never been to an Irish pub I had no real idea what to expect.
As I approached the building I quickly noticed that the parking lot was small. The packed lot gave me an indication that the food must be amazing to draw that many patrons. Upon meeting my group and going inside, I noticed that even the interior seemed small as well. The wait for a table was not bad, and considering how busy they were upon our arrival I was actually impressed with how quickly we were seated.
My next thought was how cozy the atmosphere inside was. There were many old family photos and 'Irishisms' decorating the walls. Despite the small appearance, the interior is setup quite nicely and makes an efficient use of the available space.
When I looked at the menu I saw such things as bangers and mash, fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage and other traditional Irish style meals. Everyone at our table ordered a different meal and each looked phenomenal. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage. My dinner party ordered the fish and chips, bangers and mash, and the shepherd's pie. All the dishes were well prepared. I've had corned beef at other restaurants that always seemed dry so I was a little skeptical. The corned beef here far exceeded my expectations. It was moist and tender with amazing flavor.
When it came time for dessert I ordered some form of apple concoction. I didn't catch the name of it but it was exceptionally good. The sweetness of the apple combined with the ice cream and whatever liquid they soaked the apples in made the perfect combination of flavor.
All in all, I have to say that I will definitely be returning to this amazing dining establishment.
Hats off to you...
Read moreWe came here on a Monday night, and were a little worried because it was dead inside. We weren’t sure what to expect because we wanted to watch football. They had two TVs so we sat in front of the bigger one. Our server came out and was really polite. She brought us some bread which was a little sad. It was these really tiny slices that were a little dry. We ordered a drink and got the mussels and clams (except they were out of clams so they gave us double mussels) and they were fantastic! We were pleasantly surprised. For dinner, I ordered the bangers and mash and my husband got the fish and chips. While we were waiting the owner (I think) handed us the tv remote and told us there was volume if we wanted it. It was really nice of him! Both of our entrees were great. Mine was a bit too salty for my palette, but my husband liked it. The chips that came with the fish were a little too thick in my opinion. They were very, very thick potato wedges. We then got dessert which was bread pudding. It was super yummy! If it had a scoop of ice cream on top it would have been heavenly. Overall, we would definitely come back, especially on a weekend when it is potentially busier. There was a man playing accordion the whole time which was lovely, and it was a very homey...
Read moreAs one of Oklahoma City's hidden gems, Sean Cummings' Irish Pub is sure to give you a taste and experience of a land far away! Not only do they keep several Irish beers on tap, but they also host local artists who perform live Irish music. So, be sure to tip your perfomers, too!
The traditional flavors tickle the taste buds with savory bliss in both their well-known, and especially their lesser-known fares. I highly recommend starting with the Harp Steamed Mussels and Clams. The rich sauce is so enjoyable you'll be asking for extra bread to sop up every last drop! For a main course, my favorite dish is their Irish Breakfast, but I do make sure to eat the blood sausage first while it's hot for texture and flavor purposes. Last but certainly not least, you can tell the owners know what they're doing, and put a lot of heart in what they do! Not only are their employee's and their excellent level of service reflective of this, but they will also stop by your table to ensure your highest satisfaction.
All in all, this spot is perfect for consideration in all events, be it a special occasion or to stop in for a beer on your way home from a long day. You won't be...
