We have been coming here for over 20 years for our birthdays and special occasions. We love Shogun and everything about it. Literally the best ginger salad dressing on the planet and great food all around. But the last few trips we could tell service has gone down. The chefs seem over worked and lack the passion they once had, the waitstaff have become slow and forgetful. Last night may have been the last time we ever go to Shogun. We had reservations for 8 and we were seated about 10 minutes late. Once seated we waited nearly 15 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order then another 5 minutes for her to bring us our drinks after that, and we only ordered water. The waitress then brought us our soup and salads. As she was passing out salads the chef showed up and began to cook our food which she had rang up incorrectly and over charged us for. The waitress then disappeared not to be seen again until everyone was done eating. If you have ever been to Shogun you'll remember the water glasses they use hold about 6 ounces of water so everyone was completely out of water until I flagged down the manager to get him to bring us water. When the waitress finally showed up we were all done eating and all she did was make excuses rather than apologize for abandoning our table. The service level Shogun is now showing will certainly lead to its closure. People simply will not pay $20-$30 a plate for 2am McDonald's level customer service. Shogun please fix it now or you will have lost a 20+ year family of customers.

It's not clear what happened here, but this Shogun was EXTREMELY understaffed. They might have had 2 chefs and 2 servers. It took nearly 10 minutes for us to be seated - with a reservation. Once we were seated, it took almost 15 minutes to get a drink. We were not served our first food until about an hour after our reservation time, about 45-50 minutes after being seated. To cap it off, the chef clearly had limited or no hibachi training. He did his best, but the food was sub-par and BLAND for a hibachi restaurant, and there was essentially no show. And finally, to add insult to injury, the prices were SIGNIFICANTLY higher than menu price. We understand supply chain issues, but the difference was about 20%. Ridiculous, given the poor quality and service. I don't blame the staff. I feel they did their best, but clearly there are serious issues at this restaurant. The server was kind and patient, the chef was nice, but clearly this staff is out of their depth. We will try again after a significant period of time, once this restaurant has had time to recover from whatever disaster caused its major issues.

Shogun used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but this week we went, and things have went downhill. Had a reservation for 7:30. The chef didn't start cooking until after 8. The server was very behind. Two of us didn't get our steamed rice until way after the others got their fried rice cooked. The portion sizes were very small compared to how it was in the past. The food was much too salty. We couldn't hear anything the chef said over the super loud fan. I can't believe they now charge $6 to sing happy birthday.

(1) It's way too dark (2)There was a dark looking pellet on the cooktop & the "chef" did not wipe it down prior to starting cooking. He dumped the bowl of rice/veggies for the fried rice directly on top of it. (thankfully I ordered steamed rice). (3) Soup & salad were brought out for 1/2 the table, then by the time the rest were brought out, the "chef" had already started cooking. (4) "Chef's" cooking order. I'm not sure why, but the cooking order seemed way out of order. He cooked all the shrimp at the very beginning. This included the appetizer shrimp & the shrimp that was part of the entrée for a few of the guest. He left the shrimp, even the appetizer shrimp, over to the side until the onion/squash/zucchini & fried rice was cooked, then he started preparing the chicken & steaks. Then he plates out in the following order: He hands out the steamed rice; then onion/squash/zucchini; then fried rice; then overcooked appetizer & entrée shrimp; then the chicken; then the overcooked steak, most that ordered steak ordered rare to medium rare. All the steak came back medium to medium well. Now, I'm not sure if you noticed, a few things were left out,... I asked the waitress after he passed out the onion/squash/zucchini, "Isn't there supposed to be mushrooms & sprouts with the vegetables?" She replied, "Oh yes, that isn't until the very end". What?,... I know it's been years since I've been there, however, the mushrooms & bean sprouts were always served along with/in with the other vegetables. Then at the end of the "chef's" cooking, he brings out the mushroom & sprouts, proceeds to cook these & passes them out. (5) Every item that the "chef" seasoned & cooked on the grill had NO flavor at all. I kid you not, I salt & peppered all of my food 4 different times. So I'm not sure if their seasoning is way out of date that it had lost the aroma/flavor or what, but even the 4 times salting/peppering didn't really make a difference. (6) The excess fried rice/veggies that were on the grill, the "chef" scraped off into a bowl. For the prices of the food, he should have offered it to our table, we paid for it. The "chef" proceeds to cleaning up the grill. Then he walks off. (7) My husband taps on my shoulder & tells me to look back. I looked to my left toward the wall, he taps & says "No look back this way, look down". Low & behold, sitting there "chilling" right there next to the wall, the entrance of our dining nook, there is a full size, big MOUSE!! This mouse is so comfortable & familiar with the surroundings, he looks up at us & gave us a "what's up" nod before he, walks, & I mean slowly walks towards the other dining guest table. He was not scared AT ALL, which lets me know, this mouse has been around this restaurant for some time. There was a teenage boy sitting at the other table in our dining nook that stated loudly, "OH MY GOD, is that a mouse?". Then our waitress said, "Oh my god it's a mouse". The gentleman, hostess, manager, the guy from the front of the house in the black suit walks over & states to the waitress, "oh boy, I guess we'll need to call the exterminators in the morning". Laughs & walks off. (8) Then our waitress brings (1) one cupcake to the table for 3 birthday guest & takes our order for dessert. They proceed to bring all of our separate tickets out with no sort of discount, comp of a single meal or anything. This means this mouse is crawling all over the cook tops, HENCE the black pellet, MOUSE POOP, on the cooktop that the "chef" dumped & cooked the fried rice contents on top of. It's crawling all over the prep areas in the kitchen, the chairs, tables, bathrooms, etc. This is unsanitary, disgusting, unacceptable. I'm even more disgusted the lack of customer service from the manager. He didn't even bother to come apologize or even talk to either party in our dining nook. We only ate 1/4 or our food prior to the mouse. BUT, our 3 dogs ate $73.54 of our 2 leftover entrees. Overpriced & unsanitary!! We...

We went here for my birthday last night. We had a group of 2, and there was another group of 6 seated at our table. Everything seemed fine, until the chef started cooking. Every meal is supposed to come with shrimp and vegetables, but he didn't give any to me or the lady from the other group. We asked, and he was very rude and said that the chicken meal didn't come with anything, which is not what the menu said. We asked our server, and it turns out our orders had both been put in wrong. Even after finding this out, they did nothing to fix the situation. They didn't bring out any more vegetables for the other lady and I, or offer anything free. We both ended up with a tiny bit of chicken and rice, while everyone else at the table had full plates of meat, zucchini, mushrooms, and sprouts. After we pointed out that our meals were wrong, the restaurant decided to ignore us for 15 minutes until they brought both groups the wrong checks. We told a guy working there, and he took another 15 minutes to slam the correct tickets down on the table. The waitress never brought us out ice cream that was part of the meal either. We were charged for the full meal, and I think the group who sat with us was, too. After waiting for the waitress to take our check, my husband eventually had to walk to the bartender to pay. This was by far the worst experience I've had in a restaurant, and too much trouble for mediocre chicken and rice. Every other restaurant has always offered to fix their mistakes, but Shogun's basically ignored us until we left after the waitress told the manager about their mistake. Also, this is the most expensive hibachi I've ever had and was not very good or...
