06/04/2025 They moved!!!
I didn’t realize I didn’t post a previous visit so I’m leaving it on here.
Just when you think it couldn't get any better. . .
Much to my surprise they moved! I was meeting a friend for lunch and we ended up at two different locations. I went to the old location, he went to the new spot. I didn't need directions since I have been several times. Sure enough when I pulled in a new place had taken over their previous location. Not to worry the new place was only 5 min away on 23rd street!
A much improved location for sure! They have a lot more seating, a bar area and a revamped menu, more including breakfast! They are still in the process of getting their liquor license.
The Sushi Tower was our appetizer and it was phenomenal! Better than I had previously! A definite must try!
Next up the Sonora Roll - this was a surprise!!! This came out on wooden boat - talk about presentation! This was beyond amazing!
To be honest words can't describe the taste - put this on your places to try!
We also ordered the Sea, Sky & Earth roll which came half fried half natural! Another winner. Sad to say we didn't finish so I had a to go box!
They have also included a breakfast menu which I have to try out. They are so many new items on the menu it will take several visits before I can try them all.
Shhhhhhh 🤫🤫🤫🤫Right now this is the best kept secret in OKC. But now that I'm writing about them I have a feeling this place will become a HUGE success! Can't wait to go back!!!
8/1/2024 - new visit Still no wife to go with me☹️ I did have a close friend of mine join me and the results are leaving me speechless.
They have a new menu that they recently released and I've got to make plans on going back as like more frequently!
A new appetizer - Asada Fries is a must try! When I try these again I'm going to ask for the fries to be cooked longer.
We had two rolls that we split between us - this Mexican-Asian fusion is simply pure genius!
On my next visit I've got to save room to try one of the desserts!!!
I've been wanting to try this ever since I saw their IG Post I asked my wife if she would like to try - I got the big N-O!
This is my first visit and I'm convinced will not be the last! Whoever came up with this concept is pure genius!
We ordered straight away. We them asked our server what we should try. Leslie who was our server made some awesome suggestions! We ordered the #1, 3, 5, & 6. Everyone was great! Although we tried to eat every roll we ordered we did not succeed. So we had to take the rest home. Liked that was ever going to hurt our feelings HA!
This is a must try...

We had a whole (friendly) conversation with our server about ordering a sushi roll without bacon, which she said was no problem at all. Our sushi roll arrived with bacon bits in the topping. I'm guessing the bacon bits are pre-mixed into that topping, but if you have a customer asking about ordering something without bacon, the dietary restriction/awareness to know that bacon bits should be assumed as part of that request seems like common sense. We had no way of knowing they would be on the topping when we ordered.
She did offer to remake it, but we didn't want to wait that long/be wasteful when we could just scrape them off. It was more the principle of it that was an issue, but she also didn't offer to make it right in any way at the register, which would've been nice. If you're offering to remake it anyway, then at that point it's really no different to simply offer a refund, or even just a few dollars off.
The other issue was she really didn't seem to think me and my girlfriend were together. We ordered a sushi roll to share (which we said) and then my girlfriend ordered a taco, and then she started to turn away as of that was our entire order. I had to grab her attention to say I wanted a taco too, which seemed odd.
Then, when we asked if we just pay up at the register, she asked if we were together or separate. That seems like an odd question to ask when we have to go up to the counter to pay anyway and she's not having to bring us a bill of any kind. So why even ask that? It all just felt odd, and slightly off putting.
Again, food was very good. We enjoyed what we ordered. But the service, and the atmosphere of the place in general, could use some improvement. Hopefully if we ever come back our...
Read moreHave been twice in the past couple of weeks, pretty impressed. First time, both wife and I had the al pastor with beans and pineapple on corn - pretty good, not overstuffed, she had a shrimp on corn - large shrimp, nicely done, good spices and grilled flavor, she also had a carne asada on corn - good, from what she said, and she put a whole grilled pepper from their bar on it. I had an order of 3 birria (took 2 home) - good taste, not enough cheese, needed to be grilled more (the DIY birria at Birrieria Diaz is the best birria I've had here, and Birrieria Utzil's tacos are better than Sonora Querida's), and a lengua on corn - very nicely chopped up, great taste.
Their fresh bar is fantastic - probably 20 items, from salsas to veggies to grilled peppers. Also really good are their complementary beans (second time they had grilled green onions on the side), done perfectly - not mushy or crunchy, with a really nice flavor. We also got a mini strawberry cake and chocoflan to go. Strawberry cake was really good - moist, very much a strawberry taste, whipped cream was nice and in between layers of cake was whipped cream and some kind of strawberry jelly. Chocoflan wasn't that great - the chocolate cake was subpar and dry.
Service was friendly and quick,
Second time, I had the sushi toreador and it was decent (the soy sauce had a little different taste to it from regular Asian soy sauce, which is good, and the cream cheese they serve on the side is nicely spiced/flavored, also had the tripitas taco, which was good. So far the tacos are better than the sushi. Wife had the taco haas and didn't realize until she got it that it was the filling on top of a tortilla on top of cheese on the grill, so it's kind of like a tostada...
