This is definitely not the better Hibachi House in OKC. Upon entering, there was no host stand. We had reservations for a birthday. They came by every so often and we had to wait for our station. Our server was friendly and tentative and the chef was engaging and entertaining. My daughter is vegetarian and ordered vegetarian fried rice, but the chef was going around with meat and it was like slow motion..noooooo trying to block it, but down went the shrimp on her rice. Also, the vegetables were slid back over where the meat was just cooked. This can be a problem for someone with food allergies or who doesn't eat certain things. If you are trying to eat healthy, skip here. I couldn't believe all the butter that went into the rice. For me, trying to eat healthier..I will skip here. It also seemed a little unfinished. Like we were bare concrete and no trim in the base of the walls, it just looked unpolished. But again, staff was friendly, they did a good job. Food was decent just very unhealthy (hibachi), and unpolished room wise.

The staff working in this resturant were rude! Nobody greeted me when I walked in, one guy just looked at me like I was supposed to welcome him. When I finally said Hi, I'm picking up an order he said oh, okay and ran around the corner. I thought it must be ready... after 2 or 3 minutes, I sat down. After a total of 11 minutes later he comes back around the same corner and says 'I forgot all about you!' so he grabs to-go containers off of the countertop, throws it in a bag, slings the bag all around while he gathered napkins and sauces and then tossed those in the bag. Then he walks towards me and stops, turns his head and starts talking to someone...but held the bag out. He didn't really look in my direction when I took took the bag, never said another word to me. No 'sorry for the wait', 'thank you for waiting', no 'thank you', period. I don't require much, but politeness when I'm your customer is expected. After all, I was nice to you. The Cajun Roll was slung so hard, some of it fell apart.

Excellent food Excellent waitstaff Excellent hibachi chefs 5 stars for this excellent establishment. The hospitality and extremely satisfying entree and drinks make this an easy choice in NW OKC. Take advantage of their $7.99 flip in front of you hibachi lunch experience. You will get a full belly and some to take home too. The $7.99 lunch expires at 4pm and is only available weekdays excluding holidays. Update: We love this place! It’s a tad bit dark in there, but they put on a show, so love it . The Chef’s are awesome ( please remember to tip them, they are there to cook a good meal in front of you and entertain you, so it’s well deserved ) I like the rice that they make on the hibachi grill as long as they don’t put too much oil in it. The vegetables are always fresh and grilled well-and you get a good portion size on your choice of protein. I would recommend the warmed sake ! Pssst… if you sake to me they sake to you! We have fun at the hibachi table for sure. 😛

Last time we came to sumo 2 we had a wonderful experience. Tonight we returned to get some sushi as it's the only place we know of that has a roll we really like. Tonight we got seated at our table very quickly and ordered our sushi and drinks. Our cook came out within about 5 minutes (before we even got our soups and salads) and began cooking. About halfway through cooking he realised they sent him out with about half of the fillets he needed. He assured us it was nothing to worry about and he would have them bring more out. Around this point the soups came out. This was a slight annoyance but not that big of a deal as these things happen and it's hard to organize everyone and have everything come out when it should. So he finishes cooking the meals they sent him out here with and says he will be back shortly with the steaks. It was at this point we asked the server if the sushi was still on the way or if it had been misplaced or something and she said none of the tables in her section had received sushi and she would check to see what's going on. At this point our cook returns and tells us they just sent out the last of the fillets so we will have to change to regular steaks. So we do because it's either that or nothing and then our server returns to say she can't get anyone to answer her as to whether they are making the sushi or why it hasn't come out yet. I'm not usually one to do reviews but this is by far the worst experience we've had at a japanese steakhouse in the okc metro, it may have just been an off night but I can't imagine if the people running the place are the same as when I went that it will be any better. Zero direction in the front or back of house.

Ps our cook and our server were excellent and tried the best they could to make up for the lack...

4 Years ago i gave this place a five star review and every since i have been there for once a year and always had a great time, this time was absurd, we had a large party well over 200$ check on August 8th at 6pm and the hibachi chef was near silent the entire time, he did exactly one trick before he cooked our food and threw our entrees on the grill rather than the usual tricks or even so much as conversation, we told him multiple times it was our sons birthday and while the other tables sang and we even asked him to he still didnt. It was an akward quiet atmosphere where he cooked the food without any tricks until he decided to do the volcano... 2 layers of onion about an inch tall in total, that was the volcano, didnt turn the lights off or anything just over and done with like he was in a rush and hated his job. We also informed him we had a vegetarian at the table multiple times and he proceeded to put shrimp on her plate and a piece of chicken was in her vegetables. He cooked the vegetables where all the meat was cooked without so much as scraping the grill leaving meat char all over her vegetables. At the end we asked him if he had any more tricks he could do for us since he didnt do much of anything and he told us no... most of our drinks sat unfilled for the duration which wasnt even very long aswell as the shrimp being overcooked. I suggested this place because it was one of my favorite places ive ever ate which is why i care so much, but instead they were a horrible waste of money and i hate to say it, last time we were here i was so impressed we tipped 30% ontop of a 40$ tip directly to the chef this time the guy wouldnt even talk to us or do any...

My family has always loved this place. The last 2 times I have gone on date night the atmosphere wasnt great. Really just employees barely cooking and making jokes. I would keep coming back because the food is always great. With that being said my daughter rsvpd for her and a group of friends to eat here prior to their dance as a special dinner. She calld me in tears as her food was never even served after an hour and a half. The group had been trying to stop a server and everyone was too busy. Her food had been sitting on the bar around the corner. Apparently the meal was comped and she left with her sushi roll in tears - that she was too upset to eat. She waited all day and not a bite expecting her favorite food. She sat in her car and cried off all of her makeup before her dance- I literally paid almost $400 for her to attend her event that was absolutely ruined by sorry service. Those teens had pockets full of tips for the right sever and at this point I hope they tipped not one dollar. Im very upset that this is her last year for this dance and it was ruined. Find anywhere else to go. The service here just gets worse and worse. I will no longer bring my family- which we take 15+ people to on birthdays and such....
