I hate pawning items. The whole process has always really bothered me, but this place has always treated me good and been very fair.
First time I used them I had been looking for a place to get a loan on my MacBook Pro and my .40cal beretta. Every place I went to literally would not give me anything for the laptop. I am not sure why since I had paid 2,000 just 3.5 years before. This place gave me 450.00 for it and another 300 for the gun.(it was 650 new). I thought these were pretty fair prices.
I never lose my items. Like I said before I hate pawning them in the first place. One thing that I noticed that for the first 30 days you have to pay a straight amount of interest no matter when you pick it up. So for the Mac it was 65.00 for the first 30 days. However; after thirty days it is no longer a straight price. The quicker you pick it up the less interest you will pay. Of course if you go another full thirty days it will be another 65.00 but if you pick it up in 15 days it's only 32.50. I had never heard of a place doing this. I thought it was great. I told my ex-wife and she was shocked they did this also. Most pawn companies will not help people out this way.
I ended up pawning my gun two more times and was always treated great. Then one day I was in a pretty big bind and needed more money. I asked them if there was anyway they could give me an extra 100 for the gun. They looked at my history of picking it up and said no problem. Again I was shocked I had never had a pawn company ever increase the amount they gave for an item. Basically they rewarded me for always picking up my stuff.
I have read a lot of negative reviews about this place but I won't use another pawn shop. The people have always been great to me. People need to realize they are in a business where people are always lying to them because they are in need of money. People yell at them when they need more money and they yell at them when they lose their stuff because they didn't pay on time.
I am not trying to make excuses for anyone but you never know what kind of day a person is having when they treat you rude. If it happens a lot when you go in I can understand holding it against them but I wouldn't if it was just one time. Just me because I have always been treated so well and I hate pawn shops. I actually can't believe I am leaving a review because I never review anything. I just saw several bad reviews on here and thought I would give you my experience. Take it for what it's worth. ;)
Edit.... Sorry about the horrible grammar and typos I did this on a phone. Probably should fix it on a computer when I...
Read moreI honestly wish I could rate them 0 stars or even half of one. I took my son to this pawn shop to sell some of his old shoes to make himself some summer money, and though it is one of closest pawn shops to us, we will not be back. We walked in, waited a few mins, then a white heavyset gentleman asked if we had been helped. My son says, "no sir", while approaching the counter and the gentleman asked how could he help. My son said that he wanted to sell a pair of shoes, and less than 10 seconds later, the gentleman took the shoe out of the box, squeezed it, put it back inside and said "I cant take 'em." My son being the person he is, just said ok. I asked why and the gentleman took the shoe out of the box again and squeezed it (saying nothing so I'm confused), so I said, "Ok, what are you showing me? What does this mean?" He says, "They're reps and real shoes don't bend like this when you squeeze them". I replied, "Reps, as in fake. You think these are fake, simply by squeezing them. Ok." ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I did not have it in me to go back and forth with him, and definitely not for $30-$40, but you all may want to rethink your "authenticity test and tester". It's quite embarrasing to have someone whose only experience with retros were probably in the pawnshop setting and probably has never owned a pair, tell you that yours are fake, especially when your mom is the manager of a shoe store and has been in the industry for over 13 years and has never bought a fake shoe (no offense to those who do). I understand there are laws, regulations, requirements, rules etc that you must abide by, but make sure your workers actually know shoes before trying to tell someone theirs are fake. Based on the condition of the shoes you all have displayed, you aren't too picky about what you sell.
For the record......I took my son to a diff location the next day and though they were willing to buy them he wanted to see if he could get a little more $$ for his shoes in which he did when he sold them to...
Read moreOk so I need to take a moment and talk about Brittney. She honestly saved this entire experience for me. I had recently bought an Apple Watch for my birthday through the pawn shop and bought the warranty thankfully because the screen was starting to lift. Brittney showed me all of the Apple watches she had available and was super informative and very very kind to me. We went for another watch and when I took it home I realized that it was locked. Like I said she saved the experience for me because she had another watch waiting for me charged up from the night before and just ended up finding an even better Apple Watch and it was all thanks to her. The store was packed and so many people were in there wanting different things but she kept her cool and helped her team so that way they could get through the rush. I manage a lot of stores and this girl is definitely the key to this stores success. She needs to be recognized for what she does because it’s not easy dealing with a lot of cranky customers. Her demeanor and the way she carries herself is inspiring and I hope more employees are like her. If this experience would’ve been handled with someone else I don’t think the result would have been the same. Just one last thank you for Britney because I honestly couldn’t have had better experience and I’m sorry if I misspelled...
