I went to Crumbl Cookies grand opening at the Olathe location because I wanted to try their free cookies.
Upon arrival, you could smell that lovely bakery scent oozing into the parking lot. There was a line and social distancing measures to protect their employees and guests.
The app is very clean and well made. It updates every week with their new menu each week. I love the week by week changes but this is also difficult when you can’t make it to try certain flavors.
The packaging is high quality. You won’t feel like with the amount of cookies inside the box that the box will break apart on you. It would be sad if you dropped a whole box of cookies and lost it all because the prices are not cheap.
Now for the cookie review: chocolate chip cookie is good but nothing too special. If you like gooey centers and crispy outsides, any Crumbl Cookie is for you.
In addition to the free cookie, my friend and I ordered the Nutella Cookie and the Peanut Butter cookie. The Nutella is AMAZING. It’s rich but not as rich as the chocolate chip cookie that really needed to go down with some milk or water. It has a lovely balance with the Nutella drizzle. Highly recommend. The Peanut Butter cookie is for all those peanut butter fans out there! Each bite feels like a mouthful of peanut butter. I personally am not a peanut butter fan, but it is a delicious cookie.
The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the price. These cookies are not cheap (almost $4 a pop) and is definitely meant as a “treat-yourself” or “treat-someone” cookie. Worth every penny but I couldn’t do it every day or every week.
The cookies also reheat very well even in the microwave. A quick 15-30 seconds depending on your microwave and you’ve got yourself a great snack! Although expensive, being able to reheat them later and still taste delicious makes buying more feel not so painful.
TL;DR: Cookies are made for people who love gooey (can be considered undercooked) centers and crispy outsides. Dropped one star due to the price. Relatively user friendly and simple app that offers delivery, pickup...
Read moreWe went here for my wife's birthday bc u get a free cookie on your birthday. We paid $23 for cookies for the rest of us then she went to get hers. She was told she has to have the app and get an email with a qr code like the day b4 ur bday. She told them she downloaded the app today. And the dude was like "well u might get the email in 2 days then." We were taken aback and my wife said "so, I can't get a bday cookie?" And he just said u can try in a couple days. Pretty terrible experience. Awful customer service. The cookies are great but that's just so bad as far as customer experience goes. We literally only came here bc of my wife's bday cookie. But we still spent over $20 on cookies for the family and they were just like sorry no. Like, figure it out. Find a solution. U can't do anything to make this customer happy on their bday AFTER they spent money in your store?
Update: I received a call from the manager Kendall. She was excellent and went above and beyond to turn this experience around for us. The guy that treated us t poorly on the original visit was an asset Mgr and she is speaking with him to correct the situation going forward for others as well. She was very apologetic and upset that we were treated that way. Thank u to Kendall for reaching out and...
Read moreOur family just tried Crumble for the first time last night. It was a new experience that many places are starting to trend toward. Walking in, there are four kiosks that allow you to order and pay. Your name will appear on a digital screen wait list as they prepare your order. We watched as 10-15 busy kids were making cookies and getting orders ready. It was kind of fun to watch and it wasn’t long before our order was ready. We tried three different cookies, all delicious. The chocolate chip was perhaps the best, depending who you ask! We also tried the “cream” aka- ice cream. This is where they lose a star, maybe two. It’s not good, and if you look at the ingredients, you’ll see why- they use an ice cream base made from corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, polysorbate 80, non-fat milk, carrageenan, etc… skip the ice cream and stop at the store for some Häagen-Dazs or other good ice cream if you don’t want to be disappointed like we were. Even one of our kids thought it was bad enough that she wouldn’t eat it. I checked the ingredients of the cookies after this and they use real butter and sugar which was good to see. It was a nice treat, just won’t ever be getting the ice cream again. Hope they make a change to a premium ice cream...
