Krispy Pizza Review: A Culinary Catastrophe
If you’re looking for an experience at Krispy Pizza that ranges from disappointing to downright infuriating, you’ve found the right place. My latest visit was a true masterclass in how to take a simple meal and turn it into a complete disaster.
Let’s start with the order. We had high hopes of enjoying five specialty slices and one plain slice, along with a side of lasagna. Sounds simple enough, right? Yet, our excitement quickly turned to frustration when we were informed that they had given away our specialty slices. Yes, you heard that right. Instead of offering to make a fresh pie, we were suggested to go to the counter to pick out from whatever sad, stale slices had been sitting there. Talk about a lack of customer care!
When asked about the situation, the staff casually mentioned that they ran out of ingredients but then contradicted themselves by saying they could indeed make a fresh pie. How does that even make sense? This just felt like an elaborate game of miscommunication where the customer is the punchline.
We were then told to wait 15 minutes, but our patience was sorely tested as we found ourselves waiting over 40 minutes. When the slices finally arrived, we were left dumbfounded. Where were the rest of our order? After another agonizing wait, we were still coming up short.
And don’t even get me started on the lasagna. It was as bland as cardboard, lacking any flavor whatsoever—and it needed salt. Not just a sprinkle, but a desperate plea for seasoning. To add insult to injury, our server never bothered to check in on us for drink refills. We were left parched and ignored.
After all of this debacle, we made the reasonable choice to send the sad slices back. It became apparent that Krispy Pizza couldn’t be bothered to provide even the most basic customer service. Not once did they acknowledge their repeated mistakes or offer any form of remedy for the chaos they had put us through. When the manager was asked for, we were told that this happens all the time, that they are short staffed and that he was busy making pies.
In summary, if you cherish your time and taste buds, steer clear of Krispy Pizza. This establishment turned a simple dinner into a train wreck of unfulfilled promises and culinary mediocrity. Save yourself the frustration; there are plenty of other pizzerias nearby that value customer satisfaction far more than...
Read moreI hate having to write this because I've waved the Krispy flag for many years, but my experience here last night was flat-out atrocious. My little brother got back from school earlier this week and the plan was to hit what we usually consider some of the best pizza in NJ. We ordered a full, hot honey pepperoni pie and a few other slices. It's not even a slight exaggeration when I say that it was hands-down the worst pizza I've had in recent memory. We ordered it well-done, like any sensible person does.
The pizza itself looked flatter than usual, with the entire crust badly burnt. Now I'm not one to mind a little char, but this bordered straight burnt. The biggest issue was the the entire bottom of the pizza. It had the consistency of a Scotch-brite dish sponge and took an uncomfortable amount of effort to tear it each bite. Far from "Krispy". All five of us agreed that the pizza was flat-out disgusting.
Now I completely understand that places just miss sometimes. But my BIGGEST issue was the response we got from our server when we politely mentioned that it was not up to par. Instead of apologizing and expressing any sort of care, her response was, "well have you had this pizza before?" Beyond dumbfounded by the fact that her condescending attitude implied that we just may not know what pizza should taste like, I decided to bite my tongue. A recommendation to the ownership... train your staff on dealing with with customers when they express that your product isn't up to par. Curt, arrogant attitudes can turn people off enough to never want to come back.
We have many years of enjoying Krispy in Brooklyn under our belts, and more recently in Freehold and Old Bridge. This really put a damper on our view of things going forward. Everyone has a bad day and bad pizzas happen, but they shouldn't to that degree - and the waitress' attitude and response is never acceptable. I wouldn't even have written this review without her attitude. Content and media are great, but please don't lose sight of what got you guys...
Read moreSince discovering this place on Facebook, from a video, I have been here once a week as my eat out treat.
As a Southerner, I do not like the pizza up here in Jersey and decided to just forgo. I have tried several local places, even went to NYC to try THE NYC pizza, and it's just not my cup of tea.
Now, I have a weekly treat at a wonderful establishment. Unlike a lot of places here, the staff is super friendly and welcoming. On today's visit, I had the Sicilian with bruschetta and the sweet ricotta. The crust is absolutely delicious with that crisp bottom - none of that foldable, floppy yucky pizza that everyone here seems to love.
The chicken roll - where do I start. Chock full of delicious chicken and so much cheese but that adorable silver pourer of sauce is what has me experiencing withdrawals! You can taste fresh tomatoes and spices. They could just give me a vat of this and a spoon and let me be!
Their Facebook videos show the crew making specials, aka a spesh and I am legit needing a Southern Spesh: Sicilian with bruschetta then spread the entire top with the sweet ricotta.
On today's visit my husband was freaking out because he recognized one of the staff as someone in the Facebook videos. He showed the server one of the videos, asked "Is that him?" as he pointed to a young fella behind the counter.. She assured him, indeed it is and he loves the social media attention. So hubby waltzed right up, chatted with him and even got a selfie. He is star struck now LOL
I am still shocked over the prices! We went to a local place last week and paid $48 for the exact same thing we spent $27 on here! Not only does it cost less, it's a million times better! The local place had zero flavor and the sauce for the chicken roll tasted like straight up Ragu out of a can. Everything at Krispy tastes like the Sicilian grandma you never knew you had stood in the kitchen and prepared your food when you ordered it.
Just a great place to eat, wonderful staff, beautiful restaurant that is always clean no matter how...
