Don't sleep on this casual Korean eatery with some Hawaiian plate lunch vibes! I'm so happy I can find food like this in central Jersey, flavorful and unique. There are tables to dine in, but you'll order at the counter just like take out orders, and they'll bring it to you in a take out container because the portions are big and you'll most likely take the rest home. Entrees are cooked to order and served hot and delicious. The lady behind the counter was cheerful and efficient as tonight she seemed to be the only person front of the house. I ordered the spicy garlic chicken and spicy pork entree. They are served over white rice and your choice of four side veggies out of a large list. The spicy garlic chicken is a lightly battered and fried boneless chicken pieces cooked in a sweet hot sticky sauce with fried garlic chips. This is my favorite and is to die for. The order came with more chicken than I can eat in one sitting, and that glaze is nothing like I've eaten before...beware, it packs punch for those who are sensitive to spicy, but they have it in a non spicy version as well: garlic chicken. Heads up, this isn't anything like Chinese food even though some of the dishes have similar names. The spicy pork are slices of boneless pork in a Korean/Hawaiian bbq sauce and char grilled with some very nice char around the edges. And for both entrees I picked all veggie sides to complete the meal. Each entree was either $18 or $19 I think, but you are getting a large portion of high quality food...nothing that I ate was processed or instant. Everything tasted home cooked and fresh. The photo I posted, the spicy pork box I had already eaten half of it before I took the picture just to give you can idea of the portion.

Don’t think, just go! This establishment deserves all of its flowers and then some! I’ve had a fair share of Korean cuisine in the States — including high-end Michelin rated restaurants in NYC and the typical Korean fare often found suburbs. I’ve made my own Korean food. But nothing compares to the kindest server/host who takes your order and makes you feel at home immediately when you step in, showers you with lovingly prepared banchan (Korean side dishes), and envelops your taste buds and senses with expertly prepared food from what feels like her own home kitchen. The Korean fried chicken rivals, if not bests, the quality and flavor of the chicken in Osamil — crispy light exterior that shatters in one bite with a flavor explosion of savory, sticky sauce and tender chicken. I would love to see a soy and/or garlic based sauce one day, but this one was excellent! The beef (meat) jeon is something I never had before — a delightfully marinated bulgogi fillet enveloped in a light eggy crepe-like batter that blew my mind. How could something so seemingly simple remind me of a banquet style roast duck? And the kimbap — just a perfect fresh Korean-sushi package affectionally made for your perfect bite. I will most definitely be coming back, for the food and the hospitality!!

We love Ono BBQ....I'm a Kali girl who moved to the East Coast and really good Korean/Hawaiian Food was one of my must find place. Ono is the spot to go. Great Korean Local Food, great employees and the place has a relax atmosphere. So far we've had most of the food on the menu..all delicious. Bulgogi so good, mixed with some clear noodles, Galbi is so flavorful and cooked perfectly, Fish Jeon with is dip is so good, not fishy at all, Seafood Pancake is delish, poke bowls are great, but one of my ultimate go too comfort is their bibimbap and if you want to try some katana street food the tteokbokki is great, soft and chewy rice cakes, with fish cake and an egg that goes so well with the sweet spicy sauce. Don't skip out on their appetizers, my family loves their spicy wings that crunchy and completely covered with their delicious sweet spicy sauce. We've tried almost everything on their menu and we've never been disappointed. A MUST GO place. I've not gotten my friends to go to this place.
